The Mole season 2 premieres on Netflix in June 2024

The Mole is back on Netflix next month!

Netflix just announced The Mole season 2 release date will be on Friday, June 28, 2024. We're a little more than a month away from the new season, and we can't wait to see all of the drama. There are some big changes coming to the series, too!

The Mole season 2 release schedule

Instead of dropping all the new episodes of season 2 at once, The Mole season 2 is a three-week event. We don't know how many episodes will drop each week, but I'm guessing it'll be something like five or six the first week, then the next three or four episodes, and then the season 2 finale. That's what Netflix is doing with Perfect Match season 2 around the same time. We've seen a lot of Netflix reality shows follow that release schedule or pattern.

There are 10 episodes in The Mole season 2. Here's the release schedule for the new season:

• Week 1: Friday, June 28
• Week 2: Friday, July 5
• Week 3: Friday, July 12

Ari Shapiro to host The Mole season 2

We don't know the full cast of The Mole season 2 yet. That will come as we get closer to the season, but we do have a new host for season 2.

According to Netflix, Ari Shapiro, host of NPR's All Things Considered, is the new host for The Mole season 2. Shapiro takes over for Alex Wagner, who was the host on the first season of The Mole, which aired in October 2022. William Richardson won that season.

This is the seventh season of the series, overall, but just the second on Netflix. Originally, the United States version of the series premiered on ABC in 2001 and ran for five seasons through 2008. After that lengthy break, Netflix rebooted the show in 2022.

Season 2 synopsis

Netflix also shared the official synopsis for The Mole season 2:

"THE MOLE is an unpredictable, high-stakes competition series hosted by journalist Ari Shapiro. In this version, twelve players work together in challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end. Among the players is one person who has secretly been designated "the Mole" and tasked with sabotaging the group's money-making efforts. In the end, one player will outlast their competition and expose the Mole to win the prize pot."
