What do Mickey Haller, Anthony Bridgerton, and Black Widow all have in common besides being three of the most alluring characters to hit the screen? They're going to be in the new Jurassic World movie.

Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey were already announced as stars for the franchise's forthcoming fresh take, but Deadline revealed on May 10 that The Lincoln Lawyer star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo nabbed the latest leading role. He becomes the multi-billion-dollar franchise's first Latinx lead. As of this writing, there aren't any plot or character details, but we can definitely expect some dinosaurs.

The movie, which Universal has dated for July 2, 2025, will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One, The Creator) from an original script written by franchise veteran David Koepp. Koepp didn't write any of the three recent Jurassic World trilogy films, though he did co-write the original Jurassic Park (with Michael Crichton) and its sequel The Lost World.

If you're a fan of Garcia-Rulfo's from The Lincoln Lawyer, you're probably thinking, "Yeah, great, dinosaurs, that's awesome... but will this impact his role on the series?" Since the new Jurassic World movie is currently slated to begin production in June 2024, the production will not impact The Lincoln Lawyer. Garcia-Rulfo will have wrapped filming on season 3, which wraps in May and has been confirmed for a 2025 release. Any additional seasons will have to grapple with any potential sequels, though they'll cross that bridge when they get to it.

Although Garcia-Rulfo's no stranger to the big screen, it's so exciting to see his star continue to rise after The Lincoln Lawyer became a fan-favorite on Netflix. Previously, he's appeared in Murder on the Orient Express, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, 6 Underground, and Tom Hanks' hit film A Man Called Otto. He has the talent to be the leading man in a big budget action film franchise, and that's exactly what he's doing. And he's doing it with a Bridgerton star!

From the glamorous world of the ton and the high-powered world of Los Angeles courtrooms, our Netflix guys will be on the run from dinosaurs with an actual Avenger by their side. They deserve it! Bailey has had continued success with his limited series Fellow Travelers and the upcoming Wicked movies, but Garcia-Rulfo is getting his big breakout moment. Here's to many more adventures in Mickey Haller's Lincoln and with his unnamed character corralling dinos!
