The funniest A24 horror movie is now streaming on Netflix
It's a good day here at Netflix Life! Another A24 movie has landed on Netflix, and we couldn't be more excited about this great news. It's the comedy horror flick Bodies Bodies Bodies, and it's definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
I watched Bodies Bodies Bodies when it first hit U.S. theaters back in August 2022, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I was already a fan of most of the cast and a huge fan of A24, so I was quick to purchase a ticket to see it on the big screen in the movie theater.
Bodies Bodies Bodies is a whodunnit type of film that works as a slasher. While more targeted at the Gen Z audience, anyone could watch and enjoy it. It's well-acted, there's enough thrill and suspense to keep you constantly guessing, the soundtrack is full of great hits, and there's excellent story pacing. There's also the perfect mix of horror and comedy. I'd even say it's A24's funniest horror movie. I guess with comedians such as Rachel Sennott and Pete Davidson in the cast, there were bound to be comedic elements to it. I seriously couldn't stop laughing throughout the film.
I'm not going to spoil anything that happens in the movie, just in case you haven't seen it already, but I will say that there's an unexpected plot twist at the end that still has me shaken to this day. 10 out of 10 for an ending I would've never guessed!
Directed by Halina Reijn from a script written by Sarah DeLappe comes a horror flick following a bunch of 20-somethings who plan a get-together at a remote mansion during a hurricane. To have some fun, the young partiers decide to spice up the night by playing a fun party game. But what starts off as an innocent game turns deadly when one of them ends up dead. Now, the rest of the group must find out who the killer is while trying to stay alive themselves.
As mentioned above, Bottoms star Rachel Sennott and former SNL cast member Pete Davidson star in the movie. Joining them in the cast are other talented actors such as Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Myha'la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Lee Pace, and Conner O'Malley.
It's a 1 hour and 35 minutes movie, so it's not super long at all. I recommend watching it with your closest friends. That's what I did, and I had the best time. However, it's important to mention that the movie is rated R. This means it may be inappropriate for ages under 17. Given what this movie is about, the R rating makes sense. It was given this maturity rating for graphic violence, bloody images, drug use, sexual references, and pervasive language.
Check out the official trailer below to see the cast in action and to get an understanding of why the film is rated R.
