No, The Fall Guy isn't going to stream on Netflix (but here's where it will)

You'll need to make sure you have a subscription to Peacock to watch the Ryan Gosling-lead action comedy.

Fellow Ryan Gosling fans, are you as excited as I am that The Fall Guy is now in theaters!? I've been waiting for this film to come out, and I think the pairing of the actor with Emily Blunt is the duo that I didn't know I needed to see. Unfortunately, a cinematic release does mean that the action comedy is not currently streaming on Netflix. And in even sadder news, it won't after its run on the big screens either.

Stream The Fall Guy on Peacock (eventually)

The Fall Guy will be streaming on Peacock after theaters. This is because the movie is a Universal Pictures production. Both the streamer and company are owned by NBCUniversal. Right now a streaming release date for the film isn't known. Universal projects are added to Peacock as early as 45 days after their release in cinemas, but sometimes it takes longer.

For example, horror movie Night Swim came out on Jan. 5, 2024, but it wasn't added to Peacock until three months later on April 5, 2024. And now with Kung Fu Panda 4 in theaters since March 8, the animated film still hasn't had a streaming release date announced though it hit the 45 day mark on April 22.

There's many different factors companies take into account, and all we can do is wait to hear official news on when The Fall Guy will be streaming on Peacock. I do expect the movie to do well in the box office, so Universal may wait a bit longer than usual to capitalize on that before making it available online.

You can watch on Peacock by following these steps:

  • Visit the Peacock sign up page
  • Create an account with your email and choose a password
  • Choose Premium (no ads, $5.99/month) or Premium Plus (no ads, $11.99/month)
  • Enter a payment method
  • Start streaming

What you need to know about the Ryan Gosling-led movie

The Fall Guy is centered around Colt Seavers (Gosling) who is a stuntman. When the star of a "big studio movie disappears," he embarks on journey to find him, per the synopsis. And there may be more to the disappearance than meets the eye. We shared the official synopsis below:

"After leaving the business one year earlier, battle-scarred stuntman Colt Seavers springs back into action when the star of a big studio movie suddenly disappears. As the mystery surrounding the missing actor deepens, Colt soon finds himself ensnared in a sinister plot that pushes him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt."

As seen in the trailer, Blunt plays Jody Moreno who is Colt's ex-girlfriend and director of the big movie. Rounding out the cast are Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the missing action film star Tom Ryder; Winston Duke as Colt's best friend and stunt coordinator Dan Tucker; Hannah Waddingham as executive producer Gail Meyer; and Stephanie Hsu as Tom's personal assistant Alma Milan.

Also in the cast are Teresa Palmer and Lee Majors, the latter of which starred in the 1980s series of the same name that the story is loosely based on. The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch, with the script penned by Drew Pearce. I'm not waiting for the streaming release as I'm a big fan of Gosling's and so excited to head to theaters. But if you'd rather check it out from home or want to eventually rewatch the movie, then waiting until it's online is all you can do for now. Hopefully the film will be added to Peacock soon!
