Where to watch The Conners season 6 (since it's not on Netflix right now)
By Reed Gaudens
Have you been looking for another long-running comedy series to binge-watch on Netflix after finishing Young Sheldon? Well, the streaming service continues to deliver the goods when it comes to acquiring shows from the small screen that people want to watch. Being so, ABC's Roseanne continuation series The Conners is now available to stream on Netflix!
The first five seasons of the highly rated family sitcom dropped on Netflix on Wednesday, March 27, which brings 93 episodes to the platform. Back in October 2018, The Conners premiered on ABC following the ill-fated revival of Roseanne. Since then, the series has managed to bring in consistent ratings to become one of the most successful television revivals.
ABC renewed The Conners for season 6 in May 2023, and though it was ultimately delayed by the Hollywood labor strikes, the 13-episode season debuted in February 2024. Rumors have been swirling that season 6 could be the last hurrah for the Conner family, but that just might not be the case after all. Here's what's been said about the future, as well as where to watch season 6.
The Conners season 6 is on ABC and Hulu
On Feb. 7, 2024, The Conners season 6 premiered on ABC. New episodes of the season air Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC with the episodes later streaming on Hulu. If you're subscribed to the Disney+/Hulu bundle, you can also watch the sixth season via the Disney+ app. Of course, for those who still have traditional cable subscriptions, the episodes will be available on demand, too.
Naturally, as shows age, fans begin to worry about their favorite show coming to an end, and it doesn't help when people online start to hypothesize that the end could be near. Well, it seems concerns about The Conners ending with season 6 began with the show's own executive producer Bruce Helford as well as the show's star John Goodman each suggesting that the season could in fact be the sitcom's final.
In a January 2024 interview with TV Line, Helford and fellow executive producer Dave Caplan walked back the previous suggestion that season 6 would be it for The Conners. According to Helford, ABC reacted to the idea that season 6 could be the final season by saying, "We never agreed to that." Seemingly, that means the network intends to keep the show around for as long as the creative team and cast would like.
Here's what Helford told TV Line:
"When we feel like we’re not telling relatable, interesting, novel stories anymore, we’ll pull the plug. The journeys that these characters are on are inspiring us to go places we haven’t. The show continues to feel fresh and interesting, so nobody is all that anxious for it to end."
On April 10, The Conners celebrates its 100th episode. Soon, the network will announce word on a potential season 7, and based on the comments above, the prospects seem pretty good. It doesn't hurt that the series recently entered syndication and now has the majority of its episodes available for streaming on Netflix. Fingers crossed on what the future holds!
The Conners seasons 1-5 are now streaming on Netflix. Watch the sixth season on ABC on Wednesday nights or on Hulu.
