The cast of Gran Turismo (and what movies and shows you've seen them in before)

One of the top movies on Netflix as of Dec. 19 is Gran Turismo, meaning tons of people are streaming the sports drama film. If you've already added this movie to your watchlist and are looking forward to watching it soon, we must share with you who all stars in it.

Avid video gamers most likely already know what Gran Turismo is. The 2023 sports drama film that's currently streaming on Netflix is based on Polyphony Digital's series of racing simulation video games of the same name.

Like many other movies on Netflix, the sports drama is also based on a true story. It tells the true story of British professional racing driver, Jann Mardenborough, who played the Gran Turismo games as a teen and used his video game skills to eventually become a professional racing car driver.

Neill Blomkamp, who is known for directing the movies District 9, Elysium and Chappie, helmed the film from a screenplay co-written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. Hall is known for writing the script for the war drama film American Sniper while Baylin wrote the screenplay for King Richard.

Who plays who in the Gran Turismo movie?

British actor Archie Madekwe portrays the role of the protagonist, Jann Mardenborough. He was born on Feb. 10, 1995, in South London. Additionally, he's 28 years old as of December 2023, and his zodiac sign is Aquarius. One fun fact about this talented actor is that he's the cousin of actress Ashley Madekwe.

When it comes to movies, you might recognize Archie from his previous roles in Teen Spirit, Midsommar and Voyagers. He also played the role of Ivo in Netflix's Heart of Stone and Farleigh Start in Saltburn. Some of his work in television includes roles in Casualty, Fresh Meat, Hang Ups, Les Misérables and See. Also, he voiced the role of Sedgwick in an episode of the adult animated anthology series Love, Death & Robots.

David Harbour plays the role of Jack Salter, a former pro racer who becomes Jann's trainer. Harbour is best known for starring as Jim Hopper in the Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things. He previously played the title character in the superhero film Hellboy. In addition, he portrayed Red Guardian in Black Widow and Santa Claus in Violent Night.
