Warning: Spoilers ahead from the That '90s Show part 3 finale.

That '90s Show part 3 has arrived and brought the teen sitcom's full second season to a close with even more hilarious and innuendo-laden adventures in Point Place, Wisconsin. Leia's growing up quickly and becoming more confident in herself thanks to her friends, but will she be staying put in Point Place for the foreseeable future?

When we last left the next generation of teens coming of age in the Forman basement, a car crashed into the kitchen during a party while Red and Kitty are in Paris. The consequences of the party and the gaping hole in the Forman home will be memorable, as is part 3's addition of Kelso's daughter and Jay's older sister Betsy. Lots of drama unfold just before school begins.

What happens in the That '90s Show part 3 finale, and what's next up for Leia and her friends as the school year approaches? Well, true to adolescence, it's not all smooth sailing! Let's dive into the surprising cliffhanger ending and what could be in the cards for part 4.

That '90s Show part 4 teased to take place during school year

As of the release of That '90s Show part 3 on Aug. 20, Netflix has not renewed the sitcom for part 4, though we'd predict the series has a pretty solid shot for renewal. Not only is the series connected to a fan-favorite franchise, but it's comparatively inexpensive to produce compared to Netflix's other original series. That '90s Show part 4 (and beyond) seems like a safe bet for Netflix.

The potential next season of That '90s Show would also break tradition from the series and take place outside of the summer months. Parts 1 took place in the summer of 1995, while parts 2 and 3 took place in the summer of 1996. However, part 3 led directly into the school year, with Leia plotting a permanent move to Point Place to attend school with her group of friends.

Toward the end of the season, Donna announces that Eric has landed a job shadowing George Lucas on the new Star Wars movies in California. When her mom suggests a few living arrangement options, Leia obviously chooses the one that would keep her in Point Place with her boyfriend and friends. She and Donna will move to Point Place, and Donna would travel back and forth to Eric.

Well, Leia might already be testing the limits of her new living situation. On the night before the first day of school at Point Place High, Leia and her friends sneak out of the house (though Kitty gives her approval to spite Donna in a battle of parental superiority). The group hangs out and gets high on the roof of the school (Nate and Nikki get back together!), enjoying the last seconds of summer.

Unfortunately, the group gets caught by Donna, Red, and Kitty, and none of them are happy. As Leia learns, Jay lied about picking the school's lock, instead stealing Kitty's keys, which Leia had told him not to do. Before leaving the roof with her mom and grandparents, Leia tells Jay that he "ruined everything." Clearly, it's going to take some time for him to re-earn her trust.

That '90s Show part 4 could take one of two paths: Fast-forward to the following summer and fill in the gaps via flashbacks or pick up directly where part 3 left off and continue in real time. Greg Mettler, the showrunner, previously teased that he would like to open up the series to the school year and the holidays, which part 3 sets up quite perfectly. Fingers crossed it's yet to come!
