5 steamiest moments from the Bridgerton universe
Netflix's period piece TV show drama Bridgerton is known for its passionate romances, thrilling drama, and of course, its fair share of steamy and heart-pounding moments between the main couples.
Shall we kindly remind audiences of the TV-MA rating? While the show, now with two seasons, a spinoff, and a third season on the way, does embody the glam and appeal of attending elegant parties, wearing jaw-dropping gowns, and falling for the most charming men, it also sneaks into the bedroom to reveal some of the most intimate moments between couples.
We've chosen 5 of the steamiest moments from Bridgerton to talk about today.
5. Daphne and Simon's confession from Bridgerton Season 1
Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset were the couple of the season in Bridgerton season 1. As Daphne struggled to find a decent suitor, often thanks to her brother Anthony's interference, Simon fought to avoid marriage at all costs.
The two found common ground and decided to pretend to be in love while actually falling in love with each other. The trouble is neither confided in each other about their true feelings, not even at their wedding.
The truth comes out on their wedding night where the two share some of the most memorable and romantic lines of the entire series. As a result, they spend their wedding night as many would expect, making passionate love and starting a string of sexual escapades that would make most married couples in Bridgerton blush.
Their sexual appetites for one another would not wane, as many of their romps would take place practically anywhere and everywhere in their home.
4. Kate and Anthony's rendezvous in the garden from Bridgerton Season 2
If you thought Daphne and Simon had an undeniable connection, meet Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton. In season 2 their frustratingly slow burn of a romance lasted all season long, until finally their passion for one another reached its breaking point.
Although Anthony had divulged in pleasures from the likes of season 1's Siena, Kate had not. Considered an old maid due to her age and status as an unmarried woman, Kate's focus was marrying off her younger sister Edwina.
After an argument between herself and Anthony (at the time his views on love were practically a business transaction) at the beginning of the season, the two battled their hidden affection for each other while Anthony was courting Edwina. Their first romantic encounter outside in the garden makes our list for their unbridled night of passion.
3. Queen Charlotte and King George's first time from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
Audiences already knew what fate beheld Queen Charlotte by watching Bridgerton. Her dear husband, King George, suffered from an unspecified mental illness, which would result in vicious tirades, confusion, and mania, often without warning.
In the prequel to Bridgerton titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, George was already suffering from this illness before he met and married Charlotte, with his mother trying to cure it, even by inhuman means. To protect Charlotte from his misery, while hiding his unfortunate condition from the people, George purposely keeps them separated, often resulting in Charlotte growing miserable and lonely.
Sometimes their relationship would improve, and they would be able to communicate, only to fall back into miscommunication and nearly hate one another. But the very first time they are intimate, finally consummating their marriage, is one of the more romantic and steamy moments in the whole Bridgerton universe.
Bonus points for Charlotte's expressions of pain and discomfort, this having been her first time, and George's reassurance and consideration to make her experience as pleasurable as possible.
2. Lady Danbury and Lord Ledger's affair from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
While Queen Charlotte and King George's turbulent marriage and relationship are the focus of the Bridgerton spinoff, there was another lovely lady with relationship issues of her own. Lady Agatha Danbury found herself unhappily married to a much older man.
She was so unhappy, that when her husband died, she was overjoyed until she realized it could mean losing everything, including her title. As she worried about her title and what it could mean for her son, she meets and falls in love with Lord Ledger, Violet Bridgerton's father.
Though he too was older and married, that didn't stop them from having a very steamy, albeit short-lived, affair. The brief moment we get to watch the two indulging in their attraction in Agatha's bedroom was enough to send viewers into a whirlwind.
As remarkable as their chemistry was, Lord Ledger makes the difficult decision to end the affair, however, it seemed even all these years later, Agatha remembers him with great fondness. The only problem is Violet Bridgerton realizes an affair must have taken place but doesn't reveal anything to her dear friend, in the hopes Agatha will confess first.
1. Every Kate and Anthony interaction from Bridgerton Season 2
Steamy moments are not reserved purely for the bedroom. No, in season 2, nearly every interaction between Kate and Anthony, even something as minor as nearly touching fingers in passing, was steamy!
Kate and Anthony could barely be in the same room together without exchanging glances, when the other wasn't looking of course. Their petty arguments didn't dull the flames of desire either.
We weren't kidding when we said their romance was a slow burn. The patience of the viewers was tested in each episode as the tension between Kate and Anthony grew.
When would they finally kiss? When would they finally confess their feelings? When would they finally be intimate? It seemed no matter how hard they tried, they could not stop fate.
