Selling Sunset season 8: The malicious rumor Nicole Young spread about Emma Hernan

Nicole Young stays in drama in Selling Sunset, but while she doesn't get into that much trouble in season 8, she has recently found herself in quite a pickle off-camera, and it's all because of a rumor she started spreading on the show. That rumor is about fellow O Group real estate agent Emma Hernan, and Emma's besties Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani are ready to back her up.

After receiving early screeners for Selling Sunset season 8, some of the cast members weren't too happy about some of the things that play out this season. In fact, Selling Sunset cast members Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani took to their Instagram stories on Aug. 31 to warn their fans of an alleged "damaging lie" that they'll see Nicole spread on the show about Emma.

If you watched the eighth season already, you'd know what that alleged lie is. While having dinner together in Pioneertown, Nicole randomly brings up to Amanza, Mary, and Alanna that she had heard some information about Emma. Although she wouldn't say exactly what information she heard, she tells the others that the information could affect families, marriages, and Emma's reputation.

Amanza, Mary, and Alanna repeatedly tell Nicole to stop talking about it, but Nicole doesn't listen and continues to keep saying things about the situation while not being exactly clear. She even proceeds to say that Emma "would burn her at the stake" if she were to find out that she was talking about it.

In a later episode, Alanna tries to give Nicole advice about the situation. She even tells her to stop spreading the rumor and to go directly to Emma, but Nicole doesn't end up taking her advice. In a confessional, Nicole reveals that she heard a rumor from a reliable source that Emma had relations with a married man. This is the alleged "damaging lie" that Chrishell and Chelsea were talking about on their Instagram stories. Nicole even goes and spreads the rumor to Bre, telling her that she heard from a close source that the married man's wife confronted Emma about the affair.

After seeing all this play out in the early screeners for the eighth season, Chrishell and Chelsea immediately rallied behind Emma to clear her name via social media. On Aug. 31, Chrishell posted on her Instagram story about the situation. She called out the show's producers, condemning them for allowing the clips to air of Nicole spreading the rumor. Also, she stated in her story that she would "never" work on a show with Nicole on it again. She even went as far as to say that she would rather be sued than have to work with her.

Also, she created a poll for her followers to vote on and put it on her story. The poll's topic was "Get Nicole off my screen," and her followers had two options to choose from. They were "Yes!" or "Hell Yes!"

Unfortunately, this Instagram story has been deleted, but X user @queensofbravo was able to provide screenshots. That same day, Chelsea took to her Instagram stories as well and called out the producers and Nicole. In her post, she calls Nicole a "diabolical piece of [trash emoji]" that she's ever met. When calling out the producers, she condemned them for spreading lies "for views," saying that it's damaging to do so. X user @queensofbravo was also able to provide screenshots of Chelsea's Instagram story.

The next day, Chrishell and Chelsea still weren't quite done getting things off their chest about the situation. Chrishell shared another post on her Instagram story, stating that her previous story expired, but here's another one. In the new story, she tagged Nicole and the producers and put trash emojis beside their names.

Chelsea, on the other hand, decided to post a picture of her and Emma on her Instagram page with a shady caption reading, "Protecting HER at all costs [pink heart emoji] #NicoleIsTRASH." Chrishell quickly left a comment in support of the post, saying, "HOW DO I LIKE THIS 5 MILLION TIMES?!?!!! Love you both so much. Of course she tried to ruin you in a sneak attack bc she would have been shown to be a LIAR AGAIN if given the chance to speak on it. What a weasel."

Nicole Young responds to the recent drama with Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani

After all those Instagram stories about her, it's not surprising that Nicole finally came out and reacted to the drama she got herself into.

On Aug. 31, Nicole posted a slightly lengthy paragraph on her Instagram story addressing the rumor she started and the claims by Chrishell and Chelsea that she's lying. Us Weekly provided us with a screenshot of Nicole's Instagram story.

"Instead of attacking me and accusing me of lying, I think you ladies need to ask your bestie some tough questions. Did she let you know she was directly confronted on camera at the season 7 finale by the wife’s best friend? Even still, I stated this info as a rumor. And given both of you have been the victim of extramarital affairs, I would think you too would stand for the sanctity of all marriages."

On Sept. 2, Nicole took to her Instagram stories again and shared more of her thoughts about the situation. On her story, she shared several pictures of her dogs, and on some of the photos, she left captions. One of the captions read, "With all the outside drama this weekend, this has been the vibe at our house [crying laughing emoji] #unbothered." Another caption read, "Truly unbothered. Life is good.”

Chrishell nor Chelsea have reacted to Nicole's recent response. Emma hasn't addressed the affair rumor at all.
