If there is one SYFY series you need to take the time to watch, it’s Resident Alien. Based on the Dark Horse comics, this is a hilarious but also heartfelt series.

Resident Alien first premiered on SYFY in March 2021. It was an immediate hit for both fans of the comics and those who hadn’t read the comics at all.

Alan Tudyk stars as Harry Vanderspeigle, a doctor who lives in a remote Colorado mountain town. Well, he sort of plays the doctor. He’s actually an alien who assumes the identity of the doctor and learns English from reruns of Law & Order. Dum dum…

This alien has one mission: kill all humans. However, his mission is affected when he becomes the town doctor and finds out a nine-year-old boy is able to see his real alien form. So, not only does he need to get ready to destroy Earth, but he also needs to deal with a kid trying to prove that he’s an alien. Oh, and there may be a murder he needs to help solve.

When is Resident Alien coming to Netflix?

The first two seasons are finally heading to Netflix. They’re slated to drop on Tuesday, Feb. 13, just ahead of the season 3 premiere of the series on SYFY. It’s not clear if the third season will arrive on Netflix just yet, but it probably will in the near future. The episodes will be on Peacock after they air on SYFY first.

This date could change. We’ve seen Netflix announce things and then the drops not happen. We’ve also seen shows arrive earlier than initially planned. Right now, the plan is that you’ll get to watch the series on Netflix just ahead of season 3.

There are 10 episodes in season 1 and 16 episodes in season 2. As a Day 1 fan, let me promise you that they do not disappoint. By the way, Asta and D'Arcy are sure to become favorites for many, and Sheriff Mike ends up being a surprisingly likable character despite his initial behavior.
