Those of us who grew up during the late 1990s to early 2000s likely have fond memories of watching Nickelodeon, especially shows like The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, All That, then later, Zoey 101 and Victorious. But unfortunately, there was a lot of darkness behind-the-scenes that kids at home never knew about.

The Investigation Discovery docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV investigates that era, with a special focus on the years when Dan Schneider worked as a producer and showrunner for the network.

Debuting on March 17 on the ID channel, Quiet on Set was also released simultaneously on Max and Discovery+. The first four episodes were heavily discussed online, particularly the third episode, in which former child star Drake Bell detailed the trauma and abuse he suffered on set.

Quiet on Set was partly based on a previous Business Insider article before evolving into the four-part documentary series that is out now. A fifth part, titled "Breaking the Silence," is also in the works that premieres on Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. ET.

Quiet on Set is now streaming on Max and Discovery+

For those interested in watching the bombshell documentary, you'll need to get a Max or Discovery+ subscription to watch the first four episodes. The fifth episode will also stream on both services after its linear airing on Investigation Discovery.

All Discovery+ content is also available on Max, as both companies are owned by Warner Bros., so it's easiest to just sign-up for a Max account.

How to sign-up for a new account on Max:

1. Go to the Max homepage and create an account.
2. Choose which plan you want.
3. Enter your payment information and finish setting up your account.
4. Search for Quiet on Set and start watching!

What to expect from the episodes

Each episode of Quiet on Set focuses on different former cast members and writers. The first episode has two former female writers, Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton, discuss their tumultuous relationship with Schneider, while episode 2 features former All That cast members like including Bryan Hearne, Katrina Johnson, and Kyle Sullivan.

The following two episodes detail allegations and inappropriate behavior that came under scrutiny during some of the later Nickelodeon shows like Victorious, iCarly, and Zoey 101.

Per Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming fifth and final episode of Quiet on Set will feature new interviews "with Drake & Josh star Drake Bell, All That’s Giovonnie Samuels and Bryan Christopher Hearne, and Hearne’s mother Tracey Brown, all of whom appeared in the original run of the docuseries. Plus, another former All That cast member, Shane Lyons, will appear in Quiet on Set for the first time."

The first four episodes of Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV are now streaming on Max and Discovery+. The fifth episode premieres this Sunday, April 7, on Investigation Discovery at 8 p.m. ET.
