No word yet on Enola Holmes 3, but you can watch Millie Bobby Brown's latest Netflix movie this week
By Mads Lennon
Millie Bobby Brown is a bona fide Netflix star with multiple franchises under her belt at the streaming service now, obviously there's Stranger Things, but she's also led the first two Enola Holmes movies and a third one is currently in the works.
While there hasn't been an official release date or casting announcement made for the third entry into the crime-solving saga based on Nancy Springer's books, we can assume that Brown will return to lead the next movie just like she did for the first two.
But while we wait for news and release dates for Stranger Things season 5 and Enola Holmes 3, fans of the English actress can keep themselves entertained with her new movie Damsel, a dark fantasy that reinvents the "damsel in distress" archetype.
What is Damsel about?
Brown plays a young woman who agrees to marry a prince (Nick Robinson), only to discover that his family maintains an ancient and violent ritual that involves feeding these "princesses" to a dragon.
Here's the official Netflix synopsis:
"A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive."
Besides Brown and Nick Robinson, the film also stars Ray Winstone, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Angela Bassett, and Robin Wright. It will begin streaming this Friday, March 8, exclusively on Netflix.
Enola Holmes 3 is currently in development
In November 2023, Collider exclusively revealed that a third Enola Holmes movie was in the works during a conversation with former head of Netflix film Scott Stuber. So far, all we know is that a third film is in the works with a script in development.
Overall, it sounds like Enola Holmes 3 is still very early in the process, so it will likely be some time before we get legitimate news about it and I'd be surprised if it was released on Netflix before late 2025 or 2026.
