Two familiar faces have joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming limited series Untamed, which stars Eric Bana, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Sam Neill. Hart of Dixie and Daredevil star Wilson Bethel and La Brea and Mary Jane star Lily Santiago have both landed series regular roles in the Netflix show.

Untamed comes from Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions and takes place in Yosemite as National Parks Service special agent Kyle Turner (Eric Bana) investigates a murder and unravels secrets from past and present. DeWitt stars as Turner's ex-wife Jill Bodwin, a park counselor who has remained close with her ex, and Sam Neill plays park ranger Paul Souter.

According to Deadline, Santiago takes on the role of Naya Vasquez, a one-time Los Angeles cop who has recently joined the Yosemite ranger squad in order to start a new life for her four-year-old son. She's new to investigating settings as dense as the wilderness of a national park, but she brings determination and unmatched intuitive skill to the table, per her description.

Likewise, Bethel brings former Army ranger Shane Maguire to life. As Deadline reveals, Shane now works as the wildlife management officer at Yosemite Park, though he prefers to keep to himself and follow the beat of his own drum. Sounds rather familiar to a character Bethel once played on a popular romantic comedy-drama series on The CW, huh?

Audiences first got to know Wilson Bethel in his breakout role in The CW's series Hart of Dixie, which lasted for four seasons between 2011 and 2015. Bethel played bartender and all-around BlueBell bad boy Wade Kinsella, who stole the heart of Rachel Bilson's Zoe Hart. The actor went on the star in Netflix's Daredevil and CBS/OWN legal drama All Rise. He'll next appear in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again.

Meanwhile, Santiago's coming off of her own breakthrough role as Veronica Castillo in the underrated NBC science-fiction series La Brea. The series aired its series finale in February 2024 after a three-season run that began in September 2021. This year, the rising star also made her Broadway debut in Mary Jane this spring.

While Untamed has been receiving a number of exciting casting announcements, with surely more to be on the horizon, a production timeline hasn't been revealed. As of this writing, the show's IMDb show marks its status as "pre-production," so the series should begin filming sometime this summer or fall for a predicted release sometime later on in 2025.
