Netflix is adding 14 new movies and shows this week (May 12, 2024)

It's Bridgerton week!! Ok, there is more than just Bridgerton coming this week, but as you could probably tell from it being everywhere online, it's the big event on Netflix this week. But besides the historical romance, there is also a Marvel movie and a popular animated series coming this week.

First up is, of course, Bridgerton season 3 part 1. It hits Netflix on Thursday, May 16, 2024. It's all about Penelope this season. She is finally stepping out as much more than a wallflower (and Lady Whistledown) and is ready to find a husband. But, of course, she has the help of her "friend" Colin to ensure she can find only the best suitors. If you read or watch romance regularly, you know this trope well, and you know how it ends. While I am still skeptical of Colin being a likable person who is worthy of Penelope, I can't wait to see how it all plays out. I'm also very interested to see how Penelope and Eloise's friendship turns out. They have to make up this season, right? Right?!?

Madame Web and Archer on Netflix this week

Next up is Madame Web! One of the latest Marvel movies comes to Netflix on Tuesday, May 14. The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O'Connor, and Mike Epps and follows a young paramedic who starts to exhibit signs of clairvoyance. Forced to face this new power, she becomes determined to protect three young women who she knows are about to be attacked by a deadly foe.

The first 13 seasons of Archer are also coming to Netflix this week! You can start binge-watching on Monday, May 13. The animated show follows a group of secret agents and spies, and at the heart of that group is Sterling Archer, While exhibiting all the things you might expect from a spy, he also works with his mother (who is his boss), his ex-girlfriend, her boyfriend, and a whole cast of bizarre and hilarious characters.

The cast includes H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Lucky Yates, adn Jessica Walter.
