Netflix is adding 44 new movies and shows this week (Dec. 31, 2023)

A new week is here, and it not only brings a bunch of new movies and shows on Netflix, but it also brings a new year! 2024 is here and what better way to ring it in than by watching some new movies and shows. This week brings three movies in a very popular action franchise, a new thriller movie, and a new drama.

First up is the first three films in the John Wick franchise. John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, and John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum will be available to stream starting on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. The retired assassin returns to the game after a fool kills his dog. But after "taking care" of that situation, he finds it hard to return to normal life. Keanu Reeves absolutely shines in these films.

Society of Snow, Good Grief, and more

Society of Snow is also headed to Netflix this week. The Spanish thriller hits Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 4, and follows a group of people who survive a plane crash. They are stuck in the remote Andes and must rely on each other if they want any chance of survival. But surviving in those extremely cold temperatures with strangers might lead them to do things they never thought they would.

Good Grief is also streaming on Netflix this week. The movie is available to watch on Friday, Jan. 5 and stars Dan Levy, Luke Evans, Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel, Celia Imrie, David Bradley, Arnaud Valois, and Mehdi Baki. The movie follows Marc as his world shatters after his husband dies. To get him out of his grief, he goes to Paris with his two best friends. But they soon realize this isn't just some fun vacation when secrets are revealed and the truth is unraveled.
