NCIS has had a home at Netflix for as long as we can remember, and while earlier reports revealed that the popular crime drama would be leaving the streaming platform in its entirety come June, we’re now being told that while we’ll be saying goodbye to some seasons on Netflix, others will soon join the platform instead!

Currently in its 21st season on CBS, this long-running crime procedural series premiered in September 2003 and remains popular.

NCIS has been available to watch on Netflix for quite some time, and just as we were coming to terms with its departure, we’re grateful for this change in plan! After all, NCIS has consistently performed well on the streaming giant, so it’s in their best interest to hold on to the show.

But what does this new update mean for the show? Will we still get to indulge in crime-packed drama on Netflix, and are new seasons going to be airing on Netflix too?

Well, if you’ve been wondering these questions too, you’re in the right place! Join us as we reveal what the latest updates mean for NCIS on Netflix. From which seasons are leaving to which are joining, we’ve got all the details you need below!

Throughout most of the 2010s, Netflix consistently added new seasons of NCIS shortly before a new season began airing on CBS. However, this pattern ended in 2018, and the newer seasons were never added to the streaming giant's library.

Currently, Netflix U.S. hosts seasons 1 through 15 of NCIS. However, according to What's On Netflix, on June 30th, 2024, Netflix will remove seasons 1 through 11.

Seasons 12 through 15 will remain on Netflix for the time being. In exchange, seasons 16 and 17, covering the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, will also be added to the streamer.

Once the swap occurs, Netflix will be missing seasons 18 through 21 of NCIS. Unfortunately, at this time, it is unclear whether there are any plans to add these newer seasons to the streaming giant's library.

Given the show's ongoing popularity and consistent performance on Netflix, fans are undoubtedly hoping that these later seasons will eventually make their way to the platform. However, there has been no official announcement from Netflix or CBS regarding future additions.

For now, viewers will have to be content with seasons 12 through 17. If you're eager to stay updated on any changes or announcements, keep an eye on Netflix's official news releases and check back with us for the latest updates.
