The upcoming film adaptation of the Mean Girls Broadway musical is likely to become one of the biggest movies of early 2024, so of course fans of the original 2004 movie are looking back with fondness on the film that started it all and gave us characters like Regina George, Cady Heron, Janice Ian, and Glen Coco.

Before Renee Rapp breaks onto the screen and steals the show with her musical rendition of titular mean girl Regina, we're looking at some of the other excellent films on Netflix right now perfect for any fan of Mean Girls. Unfortunately, the Tina Fey-penned movie isn't streaming on Netflix at the moment, though it often comes and goes, but these six films should tide you over until the musical arrives in theaters!

She's the Man (2006)

When it comes to iconic teen rom-coms from the early 2000s, Mean Girls and She's the Man are easily among the top. The Amanda Bynes-starring film from 2006 didn't become an instant classic as Mean Girls, but slowly gained its cult status and popularity in the decades to come. Nowadays it is heralded as one of the best from that era. Inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, She's the Man follows a plucky teen as she takes her twin brother's place at boarding school to prove girls can play soccer just as well as the boys.

Do Revenge (2022)

Out of all of the movies on this list, Do Revenge is the most recent film to be released sharing Mean Girls DNA and probably the one most similar to the 2004 movie. Do Revenge shares a similar concept to Mean Girls, with both films focusing on getting revenge on the popular kids in school. The 2022 film starring Riverdale's Camila Mendes and Stranger Things' Maya Hawke also features tons of references and easter eggs calling back to the many notable teen comedies of the 1990s and early 2000s.

13 Going on 30 (2004)

13 Going on 30 is significantly lighter with less of the mean streak found in a few other options on this list, but it's the perfect choice for anyone missing the vibes of the early aughts, especially considering it released the same year as Mean Girls. Jennifer Garner plays a 13-year-old teen trapped in a 30-year-old's body after making a birthday wish that comes true.

The House Bunny (2008)

Like 13 Going on 30, The House Bunny is a very sweet and lighthearted movie starring Anna Faris as a former Playboy bunny who becomes a house mother to a group of outcasts at a college sorority. There are a lot of recognizable faces in this film, including Emma Stone, Kat Dennings, Katherine McPhee, and Colin Hanks. Faris is at her absolute best here. It's easily one of the funniest (and most underrated) movies on this list.

Senior Year (2022)

Another more recent addition to Netflix, Senior Year starring Rebel Wilson is a hilarious ode to the old days of teen comedies featuring Wilson as a cheerleader who falls into a coma right before prom. Waking up 20 years later, now 37, she's eager to return to high school and finish out her fantasy of becoming prom queen.

She's All That (1999)

When it comes to actual "mean girls" in teen comedies you aren't going to find someone more vicious than She's All That's Taylor Vaughn, played to perfection by Jodi Lyn O'Keefe. This 1999 film helped paved the way for a lot of the early 2000s films and Mean Girls definitely owes a lot of its overall vibe to it. This movie is one of the "makeover" trope movies with Rachel Leigh Cook's character Laney Boggs becoming part of a bet between the school's biggest jock (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and his douchey best friends.
