More Harlan Coben shows are on the way! Netflix picks up two more after Fool Me Once
When it comes to the mystery and thriller genres, Harlan Coben got that covered. He's a best-selling author, and through his ongoing creative partnership with Netflix, many limited series based on his books have come out over the years. The latest book of his to be adapted for the small screen is Fool Me Once. It's a new Netflix original series that was released on Jan. 1, and it's been a massive success for the streamer, accumulating 61 million views globally in its first two weeks on the platform. Talk about an impressive feat!
Now, we've learned that Netflix has ordered two more television adaptations of Harlan Coben's books. One of Coben's books to be adapted next for TV is his 2014 standalone novel Missing You, while the other one is one of his most recent novels the 2019 thriller Run Away. These will be the ninth and tenth television adaptations produced under Coben's deal with Netflix.
Both upcoming Harlan Coben shows have been billed as limited series and will be produced by Quay Street Productions. In addition, Coben has signed on to executive produce under his production company, Final Twist Productions.
Not much information is known yet about these shows since they were just recently announced. But we do know some juicy deets. For example, production on Missing You is set to begin in the United Kingdom in spring 2024.
The show will tell the story of a detective named Kat Donovan, whose fiancé mysteriously disappeared 11 years ago. But Kat soon finds her world turned upside down when she stumbles across his profile on an online dating site.
Run Away will follow a man named Simon, whose life seemed perfect before his eldest daughter decides to run away. He eventually finds her, but she's not the same girl she was before. She's strung out on drugs, has an abusive boyfriend, and is clearly in trouble. Simon is willing to do anything to save his daughter, even if that means following her into a dangerous underworld that puts him and his family in harm's way.
