Tyler Perry’s latest film, Mea Culpa, is now streaming on Netflix. The legal thriller stars the beautiful Kelly Rowland and scrumptious Trevante Rhodes. The movie starts with Mea (Kelly Rowland) and her husband Kal (Sean Sagar) working on their marriage problems in therapy. More problems arise when Mea is tasked to represent artist Zyair Malloy (Trevante Rhodes). Seductive, thrilling, and with loads of drama, this film is worth watching. The cast is easy on the eyes, and some may look familiar. Here’s where we’ve seen them before.

Kelly Rowland as Mea Harper

Mrs. Rowland needs no introduction. She’s the reason most watched the film, but in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past 20+ years, she rose to fame as an original member of the iconic '90s R&B group Destiny’s Child. Not only is she a powerhouse vocalist, but she’s also an actress and TV personality. Fans of hers have likely seen her in memorable roles such as in Freddy vs. Jason, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, and as a judge on X Factor UK.

Trevante Rhodes as Zyair Malloy

The film has a lot of eye candy, but Trevante Rhodes, who plays Zyair Malloy, takes the cake. From his alpha male persona to his perfectly groomed beard, his looks alone made watching this film worthwhile. Rhodes is no stranger to the big screen. His breakthrough role was playing adult Chiron in Moonlight, which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture – Drama and the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He also starred in Bird Box and Burning Sands.

Nick Sagar as Ray Hawthorne

One of the many antagonists, Ray, is a fellow attorney. The dynamic between Mea and Ray, fueled by their legal prowess and conflicting agendas, adds complexity to the storyline. Nick Sagar does a great job playing Ray, making the movie exciting and thought-provoking as it explores the legal system's themes of fairness and right and wrong. He’s also been seen in Shadowhunters, The Haves and Have Nots, and Queen of the South.

Sean Sagar as Kal Hawthorne

Kal is Mea's husband and also happens to be Ray's brother. Their family dynamic gets complicated because Kal's mom, Azalia, played by Kerry O'Malley, doesn't like Mea. She's always criticizing and putting Mea down; worse, Kal doesn't stand up for his wife. This creates tension and conflict within the family, adding another layer of drama to the story. Sagar’s prominent roles include Sistas, Our Girl, and NCIS: Sydney.

RonReaco Lee as Jimmy

This man deserves more recognition for his talent. He's been in the acting scene for many years, consistently delivering outstanding performances. Even after all this time, he still looks just as great as he did in the 90s when he starred in Sister, Sister. Lee brings a perfect blend of comedy and thrill to his role in this movie, adding a refreshing twist to the storyline. Apart from this film, he's been a part of other noteworthy projects like Survivor's Remorse, The First Wives Club, and The Black Hamptons. His versatility and charm make him a standout in every role he takes on.

Shannon Thornton as Charlise

In the movie, Shannon Thornton shines as Charlise, Ray's stunning wife and close friend to Mea. At first glance, Charlise may seem quiet and innocent, but beneath her exterior lies a hidden and intriguing secret. Thornton brings depth and complexity to her character, adding mystery and intrigue to the storyline. Fans of Thornton's work may recognize her from her standout role in P-Valley, where she captivated audiences with her compelling performance. As Charlise, Thornton continues to showcase her talent, leaving a lasting impression on viewers with her portrayal of this enigmatic character.
