1. Fatherhood

  • Release Date: June 18, 2021
  • Directed by: Paul Weitz
  • Cast: Kevin Hart, Alfre Woodard, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, and Paul Reiser

Fatherhood premiered on Netflix in the summer of 2021, and it’s easily the best of Hart’s Netflix movies and shows so far. True Story, as mentioned, is solid, but Fatherhood, for me, is so much better. It has so much heart!

The Netflix movie is based on Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love by Matthew Logelin, which tells the true story of Matthew’s life and relationship with his daughter after his wife and daughter’s mother passed away.

Fatherhood tells the story of Matt and Maddy, a father and a daughter, after Matt’s wife and Maddy’s mother suffered a pulmonary embolism and died shortly after giving birth. Matt tries to be a good father to Maddy, but he struggles to be a working single parent while also exploring other romantic relationships and managing Maddy’s changing needs.

Fatherhood is a really good movie. It’s heartwrenching at times, but it’s a story of perseverance. Hart’s performance in this movie is one of the best of his career. It’s more serious than many of his movies, but it’s quite good.

That’s the list of Hart’s movies and shows on Netflix, ranked!
