3. The Man from Toronto

  • Release Date: June 24, 2022
  • Directed by: Patrick Hughes
  • Cast: Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fodé, Jencarlos Canela, Ellen Barkin, and more

The Man from Toronto premiered on Netflix in 2020, and it’s one of the best spy comedies that Netflix has made so far. It’s not Red Notice good, but it’s definitely in the Murder Mystery or Spencer Confidential range and similar to both of those Netflix movies.

The Man from Toronto stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. The film tells the story of Teddy, played by Hart, who is a struggling salesman. After losing his job and while on a vacation, Teddy accidentally stumbles into a hostage situation and is mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin, the Man from Toronto. Teddy is forced to team up with the real Man from Toronto, played by Harrelson to stay alive.

Overall, The Man from Toronto didn’t get great reviews from critics or audiences, but it’s far from the worst of Netflix’s movies. It leaves something to be desired, but it has a lot of moments. I’m generally a fan of unlikely team-ups, and this is a movie with one of them!

Up next is True Story!
