Katherine Heigl's best romantic comedy movie of all time is now on Netflix

Don't you just love a good rom-com? I do! But not every actress can do one and do it well. I'm not saying they're bad, it's just not a genre they're necessarily the best in. However, there's one actress who exceeds my expectations every time she does a rom-com, and it's none other than the amazingly talented actress Katherine Heigl. Her romantic comedy movie 27 Dresses just recently dropped on Netflix, and I couldn't be more excited!

Many people know Katherine Heigl best for her iconic role as Izzie Stevens in the smash-hit medical drama series Grey's Anatomy. But this stunning actress eventually went on to take her talents elsewhere. Elsewhere being rom-coms. Some of her best rom-coms to date are Knocked Up, The Ugly Truth, Killers and Life as We Know It. But her best romantic comedy movie of all time would have to be 27 Dresses. You might think differently, but that's just my opinion.

27 Dresses was released in theaters back in January 2008 and was a box office hit, grossing $165.8 million on a $30 million budget. Talk about impressive! It was directed by Anne Fletcher, whose known for also directing the 2009 rom-com The Proposal. She helmed the movie from a screenplay written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who you might recognize from her writing work on the comedy-drama film The Devil Wears Prada. McKenna also co-created the Emmy Award-winning musical series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

The story follows Jane Nichols, a young woman who has been a bridesmaid for 27 weddings. Jane always puts others before herself, and while it doesn't initially bother her as much, everything changes when she finds out that her younger sister is getting married to her boss who she's been secretly in love with for a long time. Now, Jane is ready to step out of the shadow of others and finally have her fairy-tale wedding. That's when wedding journalist, Kevin "Malcolm" Doyle, comes into her life and eventually captures her interest.

Emmy Award-winning actress Katherine Heigl portrays the protagonist, Jane Nichols, while Golden Globe nominee James Marsden plays the wedding journalist who ends up sweeping Jane off her feet, Kevin "Malcolm" Doyle. Joining Heigl and Marsden in the cast are Malin Åkerman, Judy Greer, Edward Burns, and many other talented actors.

Overall, 27 Dresses is a charming romantic comedy flick that we strongly recommend watching if you haven't already. Even if you have watched this movie, it's definitely worth a rewatch session. Heigl gives one of her best performances in this film as well as the rest of the cast.
