The Hunger Games alum Josh Hutcherson is all the rage right now after returning to the spotlight with his big 2023 horror movie Five Nights at Freddy's and becoming TikTok's boyfriend of the year, especially if those whistle memes are anything to go by (and yes, the actor has seen them!).
While the big draw of The Beekeeper is the fact it's a new Jason Statham action movie, I would not be surprised if there is a healthy portion of the audience who is interested in seeing it purely because Hutcherson also stars in the movie, which begins playing in theaters on January 12, 2024.
Unfortunately for Netflix subscribers, you're unlikely to see The Beekeeper on the platform anytime soon, if ever. It's an Amazon MGM production, meaning the film will probably stream on Prime Video and/or MGM+ at some point in the future.
The Beekeeper will likely stream in Prime Video in a few months
Going by previous Amazon MGM Studios releases like Foe and Saltburn, we expect The Beekeeper to begin streaming on Prime Video within a few months, likely by March or April. If you don't have a Prime Video subscription yet, you can sign-up for one here, it costs $8.99 if you're not a Prime member and just want access to Prime Video, or $14.99 if you want to get Prime, which includes the streaming catalog.
Directed by Suicide Squad's David Ayer, The Beekeeper is an action-thriller film centered on Statham's character, Adam Clay, a former member of a clandestine organization known as the Beekeepers. When one of Adam's friends kills himself after falling for a phishing scam, he takes it upon himself to do whatever it takes to hunt down those responsible.
The film also stars Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad, and Jeremy Irons. Netflix subscribers might also recognize The Umbrella Academy star Emmy Raver-Lampman in the leading role of FBI Agent Verona Parker.
The Beekeeper starts playing in theaters nationwide on Friday, January 12, 2024. See where it's playing near you right here.
