Summer's in full swing, and it's going to stay in full swing on Netflix well into August. The streaming service will be taking foodies with a sweet tooth to the state fair on Aug. 9 with the release of the brand-new food competition reality series Blue Ribbon Baking Championship. All the classic fair food will become a battleground for a group of bakers looking to win it all.

On July 10, Netflix released the official trailer for the series and announced the release date for Friday, Aug. 9. Ironically, American Pie star Jason Biggs will be hosting the baking competition series, but this time around, he won't be doing that to the pie. Food Network star Sandra Lee, who's a Blue Ribbon winner herself, will also co-host and serve as a judge in the series.

The new show, which contains eight episodes that are each about 45 minutes in length, 10 bakers from around the United States will put their pastry prowess and sweets skills to the test in order to take home the $100,000 grand prize. The competitors will be taking on fair staples like pies and candy apples, likely having to jazz them up in unexpected ways.

Watch a first look of the series in the trailer below!

Joining Biggs and Lee, former White House pastry chef Bill Yosses and award-winning artisan baker Bryan Ford will assist Sandra Lee (who also serves as an executive producer on the series) as judges taste-testing each delectable dessert and deciding the fates of the 10 competitors. Obviously, each of them know a thing or two about dessert and Biggs does, too, but... well, never mind.

Some of the Blue Ribbon-worthy treats viewers can look forward to drooling over while watching the series include jam-packed fruit pies and cakes made to look like fruit. There's colorful cupcakes with a cherry on top, five-tier cakes, and all the chocolately, fruity deliciousness you could ever dream up while attending an oh-so American summer fair. Just take a look at the treat below and dare your mouth not to water already. Can you imagine eight episodes of this?!

Well, you don't have to imagine it! All the treats and competitive drama will hit your watch list on Aug. 9. Blue Ribbon Baking Championship follows a long line of Netflix original baking competition series on the streaming, including the likes of Nailed It, The Great British Baking Show, Baking Impossible, Is It Cake?, Sugar Rush, and so many more. With the summer connection and the movie star host, it's sure to be the next big foodie hit on Netflix.
