Jamie Dornan made his Netflix debut with the action-adventure film Heart of Stone. He later returned to the streaming platform with the recently picked-up mystery drama series The Tourist. Now, he's set to star in a new Netflix series titled The Undertow. Of course, we shared everything there is to know about it below.

The Undertow is an upcoming crime noir series based on the Norwegian crime drama series Twin. Film and TV director Jeremy Lovering will be directing the episodes. He's best known for directing episodes of the TV shows The One and Slow Horses. In addition, Sarah Dollard, Hanna Jameson, Scout Cripps, and Kam Odedra will be writing the scripts. Complete Fiction and wiip are producing with Dollard, Lovering, Dornan, Nira Park, Rachael Prior, David Flynn, and Paul Lee executive producing.

Dornan will star in the series as twin brothers Adam and Lee. Joining him in the cast are amazingly talented actors like Mackenzie Davis (Station Eleven, Blade Runner 2049, Black Mirror), Iain De Caestecker (The Winter King, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Control Room), and Gary Lewis (Vigil, Gang of New York, The Marvels). Davis will be playing the role of Nicola, Adam's wife. It's unclear what roles the others will be playing, though.

Here's what The Undertow is about via Variety:

"Suffocating in a loveless marriage to Adam (Dornan), Nicola’s (Davis) life takes a dramatic turn when Adam’s long-estranged identical twin brother Lee (Dornan) comes crashing back into her life, and their tangled romantic past threatens to destroy the present. A split-second decision and a terrible accident drives Nicola to protect her children, and over the course of one week, Lee and Nicola are forced together, struggling to maintain a web of secrets and lies. Though they can’t ignore their feelings for each other, they both know they’re living on borrowed time."

Principal photography is scheduled to start later this year in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. An official production schedule hasn't been revealed yet, but we'll share it once it's made known. Also, the cast will probably have more additions, so expect updates on that, too. But for now, this is all there is to know about The Undertow. We'll come back to share new information as it's released.
