Jamie Campbell Bower, who stars as Vecna and Henry Creel, in Stranger Things just gave one of the most unhinged updates about Stranger Things season 5 that we've seen so far.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Bower told Tommy DiDario on his podcast, I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, that Stranger Things season 5 is "completely insane."
"If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like it's bonkers. It really, really is. It's bigger. It's just completely insane. It's completely insane."
We've heard similar sentiment from other stars of Stranger Things, including Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, David Harbour, director Shawn Levy, among others, but I believe Bower is the only one to go this far in his assessment of the final season.
The episode is not available yet! The new episode of the podcast will be released on Tuesday, June 18, but DiDario shared a near four-minute clip of Bower discussing the updates on Stranger Things season 5.
In the clip, Bower also shares that they've filmed a lot, but they have "a lot more to go." Bower added, "So, we're going to be locked down for some time."
That's not surprising. Everything we've heard about Stranger Things season 5 filming from the cast suggests they'll be filming through the end of the year, or at least into the final few months of the year.
It should be no surprise that Vecna will return, but we're still in the dark about in what capacity the character will be featured. At the end of season 4, he was banished by Eleven and the gang, but what does that mean? Can he even be killed? We don't know.
Lately, there's been an uptick in leaked set photos featuring Bower as Henry Creel in Stranger Things season 5. I'm not going to spoil anything for viewers, but it seems that season 5 is revisiting a certain period of time.
There's also been some interesting developments in who Bower is sharing scenes with in season 5. Based on what we've seen so far from the set, it hints at a larger Stranger Things theory, but at this point, only the cast, crew, and creative team know what's going to happen in the final season.
And, if Bower is to be believed. it sounds like he doesn't quite understand what's going on. Bower shared how wild the story is for the final season with DiDario.
"And, I feel like, last year, it was easier for me to kind of track," Bower said. "This year, I'm like, 'WHAT?! Hold on, wait, what?'"
Well, if we weren't super excited for Stranger Things season 5, we are now! Listen to Bower's episode of I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario on Tuesday, June 18. We'll be tuning in to see if there's more information about Stranger Things season 5 that we'll be able to share with fans!
