Mike Tyson, also known as "Baddest Man on the Planet" or "Iron Mike," is the former undisputed world heavyweight champion. He had this title from 1987 to 1990. In 1986, he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever at just 20 years old. Additionally, he has been inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame as well as the Las Vegas Hall of Fame. Tyson is known for his ferocious boxing style, so it'll be interesting to see how Paul fares in this highly anticipated boxing match against him.
Here's what Tyson had to say about his boxing match against Paul via Netflix:
"I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. It's a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him."
Many people might know Jake Paul from his Vine and YouTube days. Due to his success on the online video sharing and social media platform, he was able to score a role on the Disney Channel show Bizaardvark for two seasons. He would later dabble in the music industry a bit, releasing many songs like "It's Everyday Bro," "Randy Savage," "Cartier Vision," etc.
He made his boxing debut in 2018 against YouTuber Deji Olatunji, but he didn't make his professional boxing debut until 2020 when he went against English YouTuber AnEsonGib. He would later go on to fight basketball player Nate Robinson, several UFC fighters, and English professional boxer Tommy Fury. His most recent boxing match was against American professional boxer Ryan Bourland, in which he defeated him in a technical knockout in the first round. Now, he's set to face one of the greatest fighters of all time, and his sights are set on becoming a world champion. He calls his match against Tyson, "the fight of a lifetime."
This is what Paul had to say about his upcoming match against Tyson:
"It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons."
