Netflix released the first five seasons of The Conners on March 27, and it didn't take long at all for the show to secure a spot on the top 10 TV shows list on the platform. As of March 29, it's ranked at the No. 10 spot. Although it's not ranked highly on the list, tons of people are still watching and talking about it.
Now that it's been released on Netflix, we're seeing many questions swirling around on the internet about the comedy sitcom. The questions are mainly about cast departures, but we've also seen many people ask about the original series that The Conners is a spinoff of. We're talking about Roseanne. People want to know where they can watch this iconic comedy sitcom.
Well, you can't watch it on Netflix. Unfortunately, the streamer does not carry the show. However, it is on a rival streaming platform. All 10 seasons of Roseanne are available to stream on Peacock. But keep in mind that you'll need to have a subscription to the streaming service in order to gain access.
Peacock offers two subscription plans: Premium (with ads) and Premium Plus (ad-free). For each plan, you can choose either a monthly or yearly subscription. But it doesn't matter which plan you choose because either one will let you watch Roseanne. It's up to you. You also have the option to buy individual episodes or complete seasons through Amazon Video, Google Play, Apple TV, or Vudu. However, these websites only have seasons 1 through 9 available to purchase.
Roseanne revolved around the everyday lives of the working-class Conner family in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. American actress and comedian Roseanne Barr starred as the titular character, Roseanne Conner. Joining her in the cast were John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Natalie West, Sarah Chalke, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, and many others.
The first nine seasons aired on ABC from Oct. 18, 1988, to May 20, 1997, followed by a short-lived revival through a tenth season, which aired on ABC from March 27, 2018, to May 22, 2018. But the revival was canceled after only one season because of a racist tweet Barr posted on X, formerly Twitter. Development for a sequel spinoff would soon happen. That spinoff being The Conners. Due to her insensitive comments, Barr was not asked to come back for the spinoff. In fact, the show decided to kill her character off.
The Conners has seen much success at ABC, with there being five seasons that have completely aired so far. The sixth season is currently airing, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that it eventually makes its way to Netflix in the future.
