Whether you first saw him in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Scream Queens, or Top Gun: Maverick, one thing's for certain: Glen Powell is one of the biggest and most in-demand stars right now. After scoring a blockbuster rom-com with Anyone But You, Powell next stars in the Twister sequel Twisters this summer. But first, he's making another splash on Netflix with Hit Man.

The Netflix original romantic dark comedy comes from director and co-writer Richard Linklater, who wrote the movie alongside Powell tells the tale of Gary Johnson. He's a college professor who finds himself posing as a hitman for hire to help out the police department tracking down those hiring hitmen. Along the way, Gary falls for a woman seeking to use his supposed hitman talents to take out her abusive husband.

While Hit Man premiered at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals back in September 2023 and was released in limited theaters on May 24, the movie makes its official worldwide streaming debut on Friday, June 7. In the United States, the movie releases at midnight PDT on June 7, while that translates to 3 a.m. for East Coasters.

For others around the world, some will be able to watch the movie on Thursday night and some can watch first thing in the morning or throughout the afternoon on its Friday release day. For a closer look at what time Hit Man releases based on your time zone, check out the table below:

Ahead of the movie's official release on Netflix, it's already garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. The film has been certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 97%, with critics singling out the performance of Powell as a leading man as well as dubbing Hit Man "one of the most purely entertaining films" Linklater has made. Doesn't that make you want to watch as soon as possible?!

Hit Man marks the second collaboration between Powell and Linklater, as the actor co-starred in the writer-director's 2016 teen comedy film Everybody Wants Some!! Oddly enough, that movie was Powell's first collaboration with Zoey Deutch, and the two would go on to star in the hit Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up. When worlds collide! Welcome to the Powell-verse.
