Earlier this summer, Netflix announced His & Hers, an upcoming thriller limited series starring and executive produced by Emmy Award-nominated actress Tessa Thompson. Another page-to-screen adaptation, the limited series is based on the book of the same name by Alice Feeney, and two more key roles from the book have been cast for the Netflix series.

The Punisher and The Bear star Jon Bernthal and Halo and Orange Is the New Black star Pablo Schreiber have joined Thompson as series regulars in His & Hers. Bernthal will play a detective named Jack and the husband of Thompson's character, Anna, while Schreiber will play news station cameraman Richard.

Netflix's His & Hers begins production in fall 2024

According to Deadline, the six-episode limited series will begin production this fall, which means His & Hers will likely wrap before the end of the year or sometime in early 2025. Based on Netflix's track record, those excited for the limited series should expect a release date much before mid to late 2025, perhaps a release a year from now in fall 2025.

His & Hers comes from writer-director William Oldroyd, writer and showrunner Dee Johnson, and writer Bill Dubuque, the co-creator of Netflix's Ozark. They will each executive producer the series, and Academy Award-winning actress Jessica Chastain also contributes as an executive producer. With a team like this, you know we're in for one heck of a binge-watch!

The series takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, as career news anchor Anna slips into a period of her life where she's a bit on the outskirts. She's also estranged from her husband, Jack. However, news of a murder in her small hometown of Dahlonega inspires her to get back to work and investigate. Anna teams up with cameraman Richard, the husband of a new news anchor, to cover the case.

Bernthal recently won his first Emmy Award for his guest appearance in the second season of Hulu's popular comedy-drama series The Bear. His upcoming roles include The Accountant 2 with Ben Affleck and another turn as The Punisher in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. Both the movie sequel and the upcoming new series will be released in 2025.

Meanwhile, Schreiber is coming off a two-season stint on the now-canceled Paramount+ sci-fi drama Halo, which was based on the video game of the same name. He previously appeared in the first two seasons of American Gods and starred in the limited series Defending Jacob and Candy. Of course, Netflix viewers will know him as "Pornstache" in Orange Is the New Black.
