It's been a long road, pun intended, for The Girls on the Bus as it was announced it would be happening all the way back in February 2022. Well, the time has come and the new series is finally streaming now as of Thursday, March 14, 2024! The show isn't on Netflix though, so where can you watch it?

The Girls on the Bus is currently streaming on Max. The company has exclusive rights to the show, and so that's where you're going to want to head over to tune in. It's very unlikely it will ever stream on Netflix either. The first two episodes have been released on premiere day, and they will be followed by one new installment weekly until the finale. To help you keep up throughout the season, we shared a breakdown of the episode release schedule below:

  • Episode 1 - March 14
  • Episode 2, "She's With Her" - March 14
  • Episode 3, "The Audacity of Nope" - March 21
  • Episode 4, "Two Americas" - March 28
  • Episode 5, "Binders Full of Men" - April 4
  • Episode 6, "The Debate" - April 18
  • Episode 7, "Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself" - April 18
  • Episode 8, "Life is a Highway" - April 25
  • Episode 9, "Slouching Towards Brooklyn" - May 2
  • Episode 10, "The Everydays" - May 9

What's interesting is that The Girls on the Bus was initially picked up by Netflix in August 2019. So there was a time where it almost would have streamed on the platform. However, Netflix decided to drop it and it went over to The CW. Finally, the show got moved one more final time to Max and it's here. So when I said it's been a long road for the series, I wasn't kidding!

The political drama stars Melissa Benoist as Sadie McCarthy, Carla Gugino as Grace, Natasha Behnam as Lola, Christina Elmore as Kimberlyn, Griffin Dunne as Bruce Turner, Brandon Scott, Mark Consuelos, and Scott Foley.

It follows for female journalists - Sadie, Grace, Natasha, and Kimberlyn - who travel around the U.S. on a bus following the presidential campaign, per the synopsis. Though they each come from a different outlet, being in such close quarters during an intense time brings the four women closer.

The Girls on the Bus releases new episodes Thursdays on Max.
