We have some excellent news to share about FUBAR season 2. The cast and crew started filming FUBAR season 2 in April, according to Netflix, which shared the news via TUDUM on May 27, about a month after filming started.

This spring, we'd heard rumors that production was close to starting, but now, Netflix has officially confirmed the start of production on season 2.

In addition to the filming news, we also have some casting news to share!

Don't worry, Schwarzenegger is back for season 2! He recently had surgery to get a pacemaker installed, joking that he'd become "a little bit more of a machine" during an episode of his podcast Arnold's Pump Club.

Since sharing the news, Schwarzenegger has received many messages from fans wishing him well, but also inquiring as to whether or not the pacemaker might impact the highly-anticipated second season of his Netflix action comedy series FUBAR.

FUBAR season 2 cast

Netflix also confirmed the cast for FUBAR season 2. Almost everyone from the first season is back for season 2, and there's a new character and cast member to report!

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger as Luke Brunner
  • Monica Barbaro as Emma Brunner
  • Milan Carter as Barry
  • Fortune Feimster as Roo
  • Travis Van Winkle as Aldon
  • Fabiana Udenio as Tally Brunner
  • Jay Baruchel as Carter
  • Barbara Eve Harris as Dot
  • Aparna Brielle as Tina
  • Andy Buckley as Donnie
  • Carrie-Anne Moss as Greta Nelso

Carrie-Anne Moss will star as Greta Nelso, a German spy, in the new season, according to Netflix. We don't know much about the character, but it seems like she could be a villain. We'll just have to wait and see.

We don’t expect to see Gabriel Luna in the new season given what happened to his character in season 1.

What’s next in FUBAR season 2?

At the end of the first season, Luke and Emma are compromised, along with the rest of their team. Luke explains they need to lie low for a while because criminals and organizations from all over the world will be trying to find them.

We have to imagine that they’ll be working again in FUBAR season 2. There is still a double agent (Tina is secretly the Songbird) in the wind, and although the fans know who she is, the rest of the characters don’t!

Back in May 2023, creator Nick Santora spoke with TUDUM and said that season 2 would be "bananas," and adding that he and the writing team had come "up with some real fun surprises."

Santora went on to say that the entire extended Brunner family will have "a million things they're going to have to deal with" such as Tina secretly working undercover, as mentioned above.

"In Season 2, we’re going to go in knowing there might be a rat in the kitchen. And what are they going to do about that?"

Besides all of that, we also left off with the identities of Luke, Emma, and all of their fellow agents having their identities exposed, which is basically a death sentence in this line of work. "

"They're in deep dog doo-doo, for sure. They're in trouble," says Santora.

Has the FUBAR season 2 release date been announced?

Not yet! FUBAR season 2 was not on Netflix's list of confirmed shows coming in 2024. That's likely due to the fact that production won't wrap until late in the year. There's just not enough time, if the season shoots from April to August, for post-production to happen and the season to be released later this year.

It's looking more likely that FUBAR season 2 will be released in the spring or summer of 2025. Usually, Netflix shows are released about 6-8 months after production ends. There's obviously variance with schedules and all of that, but that's pretty typical.

For now, expect to see FUBAR season 2 on Netflix in early 2025!

We’ll share more information about FUBAR season 2 as soon as we find out. Stay tuned!
