We'll soon be saying goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024, but before this happens, Netflix still has many shows and movies to release. One of those shows is Gyeongseong Creature.

Gyeongseong Creature is an upcoming South Korean series produced by Story & Pictures Media and Kakao Entertainment and co-produced by Studio Dragon. Additionally, Chung Dong-yoon directed the series, and Kang Eun-kyung wrote the scripts. Dong-yoon is known for previously helming the Korean series Hot Stove League, while Kang Eun-kyung previously wrote scripts for the K-Dramas Dal-ja's Spring, What Happens to My Family? and Dr. Romantic.

Unlike many other Netflix Korean series, Gyeongseong Creature is not based on a webtoon. It's all original work from Kang Eun-kyung. It's also expected to be one of the last biggest Netflix releases of the year, so you don't want to miss it. And to make sure this doesn't happen, we shared the official release date, release time, and much more below.

When is Gyeongseong Creature coming to Netflix?

So, here's the thing. Netflix has decided to split the show into two parts, which is something the streamer has been doing a lot of recently. Gyeongseong Creature part 1 will be released at the end of 2023, while part 2 is scheduled to come out at the top of the new year. There are 10 episodes in total, with part 1 consisting of seven episodes, and part 2 making up the remaining three episodes.

First, mark your calendar for Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, because that's when part 1 is slated to be released. Then, mark your calendar for Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, because that's when part 2 will drop on Netflix. You can expect both parts to make their way to the streaming platform at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on their release dates.

What is Gyeongseong Creature about?

Set during the spring of 1945 at the mysterious Ongseong Hospital in Gyeongseong, two young individuals, an entrepreneur and a sleuth, confront strange creatures born from greed, and then must battle against them for survival. All of this is happening during the time when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule.
