Everything that has been said about a Suits reboot
Suits is hands down one of the best legal dramas in television history. The first eight seasons are streaming on Netflix, with the ninth and final season scheduled to debut on July 1. Even though Suits season 9 hasn't been released on Netflix yet, people are already wondering about a continuation of the series. They want to know if a Suits reboot is in the works. Well, we've got everyone covered and shared all that has been said about a potential reboot below.
A Suits reboot has not been greenlit
Sadly, the chances of a Suits reboot are slim to none at the moment. Back in August 2023, Suits creator Aaron Korsh spoke with fans via social media about the possibility of the legal drama coming back in reboot form, and he basically shot it down. Around this time, the USA Network drama had seen a resurgence in popularity after being added to Netflix that June. It's this new wave of popularity that brought about a reboot conversation.
On Aug. 20, 2023, Korsh shared with fans on his X account that a Suits reboot was not in the works and that the actors and writers strikes were one of the main reasons why conversations about a reboot were not being had. He also noted that a network or streaming service would have to reach out in order for things to get moving on a reboot and that everyone (cast and crew) involved would have to want to do one.
One fan commented under the post, basically asking Korsh if he would be open to doing a reboot if the strikes ended and a network or streamer reached out. Korsh replied by saying that he would consider it but that it's not his "priority creatively."
Another fan commented under this post and said that they would be okay without a reboot, stating that the show "ended where it needed to" and that they were "satisfied" with how everything wrapped up. Korsh replied back to this fan and said, "I don't really disagree."
Executive producer Gene Klein had previously spoken out about a potential reboot in a July 2023 interview with TVLine, saying that he's "expecting a call at some point" regarding a reboot but that there hadn't been any "serious conversations."
However, it doesn't look like a Suits reboot is anywhere on Korsh's mind at the moment based on his X posts from August 2023. In fact, he's currently working on the upcoming Suits spinoff series, Suits: L.A. It's a spinoff set in the same universe as the original series but with a brand-new cast. He serves as the creator of the series and is also an executive producer. In addition, he wrote the pilot episode.
Patrick J. Adams, who starred as Mike Ross for seasons 1-7 of the original series and recurring in season 9, even expressed his interest in reprising his role in the spinoff, saying that he'd be "ready to suit up again" if he got the call. But unfortunately, he hasn't said anything about a Suits reboot.
So, for now, it looks like fans will have to focus all their attention on Suits: L.A. Maybe a Suits reboot could happen somewhere down the line, but that doesn't seem to be the case as of right now.
