March is here, which means new releases on Netflix. This month brings many exciting titles, including a few horror titles, John Carpenter's Vampires, streaming now, and Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, and There's Something in the Barn, both coming on March 20.

Here are some great horror recommendations this week March 4.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

The 2004 remake of George A. Romero's 1978 film, Dawn of the Dead, will be leaving Netflix on April 1, so watch it before it's gone. The movie is directed by Zach Snyder, in his directorial debut, from the screenplay by James Gunn.

The story is set in Milwaukee during a zombie apocalypse and follows a group of survivors who take refuge in a mall. Starring Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Kelly, and Ty Burrell, with cameos by Snyder as a soldier with actors featured in the first film Scott Reiniger, Tom Savini, and Ken Foree.

30 Days of Night (2007)

The movie 30 Days of Night stars Josh Hartnett and Melissa George and is set in an Alaskan town as it enters its 30 days of polar night, which is excellent news for the vampire population. The film's success led to a prequel series, Blood Trails (VOD Prime Video), a sequel series, Dust to Dust, and a movie sequel, Dark Days (Peacock).

Army of the Dead (2021)

In 2021, Zach Snyder brought horror/zombie fans a great new concept, the zombie heist film Army of the Dead. The movie sends a group of mercenaries on a mission to Las Vegas, ground zero for the undead apocalypse, to retrieve $200 million from a casino vault. The catch is they must do it before the military deploys a nuclear strike in an attempt to destroy the zombies who have overrun the city.

The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Huma Qureshi, and Garret Dillahunt. Also, check out the prequel spinoff Army of Thieves on Netflix, and there is a sequel in production, Planet of the Dead.

Deliver Us from Evil (2014)

The supernatural horror, Deliver Us from Evil initially released in 2014 and was directed by Scott Derrickson, well-known for Doctor Strange, which was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Édgar Ramírez portrays a Spanish priest who teams up with New York City cop Ralph Sarchie, played by Eric Bana, as they investigate demonic possessions that threaten the city and Ralph's family. The movie also stars Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, Joel McHale, Chris Coy, and more.

The Pope's Exorcist

The Pope's Exorcist is inspired by the actual accounts of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, portrayed by Russell Crowe. The movie is based on books written by Armorth, An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories. Amorth faces evil unlike anything he's ever seen in the possession of a young boy who resides in an ancient Spanish abbey. Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, and Franco Nero star in supporting roles.
