Choose your own Virgin River adventure with Netflix's new mobile game

We have some Virgin River news, but it's not the Virgin River news you were expecting. No, there's nothing new to report about season 6 yet, though the cast and crew are still hard at work filming the new season set to launch on Netflix sometime in 2025. Ahead of season 6, Netflix will be releasing a brand-new interactive mobile game set in the show's world.

As first exclusively reported by TV Line, Netflix will release Netflix Stories: Virgin River on May 29. The mobile game will allow players to create their very own character rather than playing as one of the show's characters and choose their own adventure in the small town. Mel and Jack help guide your unique character through the town, but you have to make your own decisions about love and life.

"Escape to the comfort and beauty of Virgin River to find romance and camaraderie where you least expect it. Stuck in a dead-end job and nursing a broken heart, you know you need to make a change. When fate leads you to Virgin River, what starts as a short trip blossoms into much more. Interact with your favorite characters and make choices that help you discover what's been missing in your life: community, fulfillment and, ultimately, true love."

How to play the Netflix Stories: Virgin River game

If you're wondering how to play the Virgin River game, you will have to wait until its official launch on Wednesday, May 29. But when that day comes, fans will be able to find the game in the games section of the Netflix app. You won't be able to play the game in the Netflix app. Clicking on the game will prompt you to download a separate app in order to play the game, as that's how it works for the Love is Blind and Money Heist stories games.

Downloading the mobile game is as simple as inputting your password and following the app's instructions once its downloaded. From there, you will be able to personalize your character and follow them through various prompts as previewed in the trailer, which depicts a steamy swimming date between characters named Taylor and Maddox.

As much as we all would want to, it doesn't seem as though we will be able to play as Mel or Jack and plan their wedding. But wouldn't that be fun? Instead, we'll have to settle for hanging out with their animated counterparts and choosing our own Virgin River adventure and continue waiting patiently for what's coming next.
