Chase Stokes celebrates five years of Outer Banks with heartfelt post

Wow fellow OBX fans. Can you believe it's been five years since our favorite actors from the action-adventure series started this journey? My how time flies! While we weren't introduced to Outer Banks until April 2020, of course months before that the show had to be filmed. And that's where the 5-year anniversary John B. actor Chase Stokes is talking about began!

On May 3, 2019, the teen mystery drama got the official green light from Netflix, receiving a series order of 10 episodes. And so, the star took to Instagram to mark the important date, is reflecting on the wonderful journey he, his co-stars, and the crew are still on, and thanks us fans for the support over the years. Here's what he said, and find the Instagram post below as well:

"Really hard to process the last five years, but my heart is full. thank you. thank you to each and every one of you. forever grateful, forever appreciative. cheers to 5 years of doing the damn thing. p4l"

The leader of the Pogues wasn't the only one to take to social media to mark the occasion. His onscreen love Madelyn Cline who plays Sarah also shared a post of her own. I like her more comedic take with the meme "The horrors persist, but so do the Poges." I mean, the story certainly has put all these characters through the wringer. Check it out below!

The show was created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. And it's around that time when the actors also first started filming to bring the thrilling series to life. Now five years later, look how far they've come! We're currently waiting for Outer Banks season 4 to come out sometime later this year, and the series has become one of Netflix's biggest shows.

I'll be honest when I first read the synopsis of Outer Banks, I wasn't very interested. A group of friends go on a treasure hunt. How much more vague could that be? And it's really not my cup of tea. But after hearing so many great things about the series, I had to check it out. And with it debuting in April 2020, right at the start of the pandemic, I had nothing but time to check out new shows. And boy am I happy I did!

The mystery adventure has heart, both familial and of course between the Pogues themselves, romance, adventure, and twists and turns you don't see coming. It's so much more than just these lovable teens going around to find treasure. I love that the fantastical story is rooted in John B. and the relationship he has with his (at first) missing father.

The show is truly the whole package! The following for the series has been insane, so I'm not surprised that Stokes mentions how grateful he is for the fans. And this show truly deserves the praise and attention. Cheers to five years, and here's hoping even more is to come!
