Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey confirmed to have joined Heartstopper season 3 cast

Where are all the Heartstopper fans? We've got some good news to share with you. We initially reported that Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey had been potentially cast in the upcoming Heartstopper season 3. Now, Netflix has confirmed his casting. We shared everything we know about his new role in the teen series below.

Everyone loves and adores Jonathan Bailey for his role as Anthony Bridgerton in the hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton. People might also recognize him from his role as Tim Laughlin in the historical romance miniseries Fellow Travelers. He's already been confirmed to be reprising his role as Anthony in the upcoming Bridgerton season 3, and we'll also see him next in the musical fantasy film Wicked: Part One. Both of these projects will be released in 2024.

Now, with his confirmed Heartstopper season 3 casting, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot of Jonathan this year, and we're not complaining at all! Heartstopper season 3 will be released on Netflix in October 2024.

So, where did the initial rumor come from, you ask? Well, it all started when a couple of photos of Jonathan were shared on Instagram. In the photos, Jonathan seemed to be teasing his new role in the teen series. At the time, he was believed to be playing a character named Jack Maddox in Heartstopper season 3. Book fans might recognize the character's last name from a character that's in the books. We're talking about Henry Maddox, who's an English scholar and former musician in the books. It looks like for the TV show, the creative team decided to change the character's first name to Jack.

Henry is one of Charlie and Nick's favorite scholars in the books. So, we'll likely be seeing Jonathan's character mostly interacting with Charlie and Nick in season 3. Jonathan, Joe, and Kit in a scene together is a must-see!

Actors Hayley Atwell and Eddie Marsan have also been confirmed to be in the upcoming third season. Atwell, who is known for starring in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, plays the role of Diane, Nick's aunt who takes him on a summer trip to Menorca and gives him some advice on his relationship with Charlie. On the other hand, Ray Donovan star Eddie Marsan portrays Geoff, Charlie's therapist.
