Warning: Spoilers ahead from Bridgerton season 3 episode 7.

After the shocking cliffhanger in Bridgerton season 3 episode 6, you would think the biggest takeaways from episode 7 would revolve around Colin and Penelope. He discovers the truth about her double life as Lady Whistledown, and they get married. Queen Charlotte even pushes back at the Bridgerton family, steadfastly certain one of them has been the writer all along.

It's truly a drama-filled episode that's the perfect lead-up to the season finale. Cressida herself even gets closer to learning the real identity of Lady Whistledown, as one of the printers she hunts down informs her the real writer is a redhead. But an extended moment between Anthony and Kate honestly stole the show and now has us dreaming up scenarios for a spinoff series.

During Colin and Penelope's wedding breakfast celebration, the adorable expectant parents chat about hearing from Kate's sister, Edwina, who wrote them from India about her outdoor adventures with her new husband. Kate speaks fondly about her home in India and longs to return. Anthony suggests they travel to India to see her family before their child is born.

While Kate initially pushes back because the trip would take months and they wouldn't return to London before the baby's due, Anthony wants to welcome their child in India with Kate's family. "Our child will always be a Bridgerton. But I should like them to know that they are a Sharma as well, know their history." Swoon! Doesn't this sound like an amazing potential spinoff miniseries?!

Since we'll likely be waiting until 2026 for the release of Bridgerton season 4, we need something from the series to tide us over in the interim. In 2023, Bridgerton fans were treated to the prequel series Queen Charlotte, which tracked the queen's rise from obscurity and into power. If the supposed-to-be limited series doesn't return for a second season, which Shonda Rhimes is trying to figure out, a series centered on the birth of the Kathony baby in India would be the next best thing.

Of course, since Netflix hasn't officially announced that another Bridgerton spinoff series has been put into development or is in the works for release in 2025, it's unlikely that any of it could happen with that fast of a turnaround. After all, Jonathan Bailey will soon be filming the next Jurassic World movie, eating up the actor's availability for much of 2024.

But even if Netflix was able to pull together some sort of miniseries or movie centered on Anthony and Kate, fans would love it. The second season's central couple had limited screen time in the third season, only having a few scenes here and there to move their smaller stories forward. Either the extended conversation about going to India was a means to again keep them offscreen in the future or a clever setup for a spinoff. It's no secret fans would definitely prefer the latter.
