Brian Austin Green chimes in on the Love Is Blind/Megan Fox debacle: 'I think Megan would be flattered'
By Mads Lennon
Whether you've been watching Love Is Blind season 6 or not, odds are that you've seen some of the social media backlash toward cast member Chelsea Blackwell after she told cast mate (and eventual fiancé) Jimmy Presnell that her celebrity lookalike was Megan Fox.
To Blackwell's credit, she did say she didn't agree with the comparison, only that other people had said it to her in the past. But it's hard to compare yourself to someone like Megan Fox, who has long been considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, without garnering some intense skepticism.
Much of the comments have also discussed how irksome it is that in season 6, several contestants seemed to be breaking the rules on the "blind" portion of Love Is Blind by making real-life comparisons to their appearances. It wasn't just Blackwell, either. Clay Gravesande also tried to coax his eventual fiancée Amber Desiree "AD" Smith into describing her physical appearance, though AD shut it down right away.
Brian Austin Green thinks people should cut Chelsea some slack
Well, now someone who is an expert on Megan Fox, or at least her appearance, is chiming in on it all. Fox's ex-husband Brian Austin Green recently chatted with TMZ and gave his two cents on the whole thing, saying that people should cut Chelsea some slack, but also acknowledging that she might have backed herself into a corner by making that comparison in the first place.
For those who don't remember, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum was married to Fox for 11 years, from 2010 to 2021. Both have since publicly moved on, with Fox being in a publicized relationship with now-fiancé Colson Baker a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly for several years now. Green is engaged to Sharna Burgess of Dancing With the Stars fame.
Green candidly shared that Fox's beauty is "one-of-a-kind," so by using her as a celeb lookalike, Blackwell was "opening [herself] up to criticism."
That said, Green doesn't think Fox would be offended by the comparison and would probably find it "flattering." Blackwell did apparently reach out to the Jennifer's Body star to apologize for bringing her name up at all.
Ultimately, Green leaves the reality star with some sound advice.
"Stay in your lane, Chelsea, keep your head up. Don't listen to everybody else. Be proud of yourself and move on. This will die soon, I promise this will die."
Former Love Is Blind cast member Micah Lussier defends Chelsea on TikTok
Green isn't the only one that has come to Blackwell's defense either. Former Love Is Blind cast member, Micah Lussier, from season 4, also made a TikTok about the whole situation, noting that, because they're in the pods for such a long time, "it's normal to give little hints about what you look like because you're literally human and it's normal."
Lussier also said that in certain angles, Blackwell's eyes and other features do resemble Fox's and she believes that people have told her that before.
The Love Is Blind season 6 finale airs this Wednesday, March 6, on Netflix with the reunion scheduled for Wednesday, March 13.
