Blumhouse's latest horror movie Night Swim will stream on Peacock later this year

The first theatrical horror movie of the year is Night Swim, to be released from the newly-merged companies Atomic Monster and Blumhouse from James Wan and Jason Blum, respectively.

Can you imagine moving into your dream house, complete with a swimming pool, only to discover that the pool has something dark and ominous haunting it? That's the gist of the first big horror movie of 2023, Night Swim.

This film is particularly exciting because it marks a new venture between horror filmmakers Jason Blum and James Wan, who have merged their respective production companies Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. Night Swim will be released theatrically on Friday, Jan. 5, and I'm sure many are curious if the film will come to Netflix. Sadly, it won't be added to the streaming service because Blumhouse is part of Universal Pictures.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters star Wyatt Russell leads the PG-13 horror movie as a retired baseball player with a degenerative illness who has just moved his family into a new home complete with a swimming pool hoping the kids will get plenty of playtime out of it and that he can use it for physical therapy.

Unfortunately for the Waller family, they soon discover that the pool is hiding a very dark secret within its murky depths that could be a danger to them all. Kerry Condon, Amélie Hoeferle, and Gavin Warren also star.

Night Swim will be added to Peacock later this year

Universal movies can be added to Peacock as soon as 45 days after their theatrical debut, sometimes even sooner if the film in question underperforms at the box office. On the flip side, if the movie does tremendously well in cinemas, Universal will generally keep it playing in theaters longer before adding it to their streaming service.

If Night Swim performs decently, we could see it on Peacock as soon as late February 2024. You can sign-up for Peacock for as low as $5.99/month right here, or pay extra if you'd like to go ad-free.
