Ginny & Georgia

Ginny & Georgia caught a lot of flack during its first season because of some awkward moments that went viral on social media. But the series is way better than people like to give it credit for, and as for these cringe-worthy moments - to that I say, they are teenagers! It's pretty realistic in that regard. Also, to the show's credit, those super cringey moments are few and far between and not nearly as prevalent as the internet might lead you to believe.

But overall, Ginny & Georgia season 2 is a significant step-up from the first season and contains some of the most realistic portrayals of depression I've ever seen on television. There were several moments that reduced me to tears in the second season. And the show received an excellent reception from fans and viewers, enough to earn it a rare double-season renewal from Netflix.

At least two more seasons of the teen drama-comedy are on the way, so fans have a lot more to look forward to from the endearing mother/daughter duo that is Georgia and Ginny, which is a good thing because the second season ended with a massive cliffhanger. For anyone that has skipped the show because you got turned off by the clips circulating online (like the oppression olympics), I recommend giving it a chance anyway.
