My Life With the Walter Boys
If you can't tell already, I'm a fan of teen shows. My Life With the Walter Boys is a new teen series that was released on Netflix on Dec. 7, and I enjoyed watching the entire 10-episode first season.
After only one day on the streamer, it didn't take long at all for the show to rise up the top 10 TV shows list on Netflix. It even ranked at the No. 1 spot for a while. But honestly, it's not that surprising that so many people tuned in to watch the first season because the show is based on a popular Wattpad novel. It's based on Ali Novak's hit Wattpad novel of the same name, which was later published as a book.
The first season centers around 15-year-old Jackie Howard, whose life gets turned upside down when she loses her entire family in a tragic car accident. Now, she's forced to leave her privileged life in Manhattan behind to move to rural Colorado to stay with her mother's college best friend and her family.
Once Jackie arrives in the small town of Silver Falls, Colorado, she decides that she's going to lay low and focus on her academic studies. But she soon finds her focus tested when she catches feelings for two different guys. Those two guys happen to be her new guardian's sons.
On My Block star Nikki Rodriguez stars in the leading role as Jackie Howard. Additionally, Ashby Gentry and Noah LaLonde play the roles of Alex and Cole Walter, the two guys that Jackie falls for. Suits star Sarah Rafferty and Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Marc Blucas also star in the teen series as Jackie's new guardians.
If you're in need of a new teen series to binge-watch, you should definitely check out My Life With the Walter Boys. It'll even remind you of some other Netflix teen shows like Never Have I Ever, XO, Kitty and Ginny & Georgia.
