5 best Netflix heist movies to watch right now

Army of Thieves is the prequel to Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, and this heist movie is my favorite on this list. It's one of my all-time favorite Netflix original movies, too!

The film follows the origin story of sorts for bank teller Sebastian Schlencht-Wöhnert, played by Matthias Schweighöfer, who becomes Ludwig Dieter, the world's best expert at breaking into high-security safes and vaults, although he doesn't use this power for his own gain. When Sebastian is contacted by a group of thieves with a plan for an epic heist, Sebastian joins the team as their safecracker.

We first met Ludwig Dieter in Army of the Dead, which premiered on Netflix a few months earlier in the epic zombie heist in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas casino. I loved Army of Thieves so much more than Army of the Dead, which is also on this list. It's a shame more people didn't enjoy Army of Thieves more. It's such a good movie!

Good news, though! There's another Army of the Dead movie in the works on Netflix, and we're really hoping these characters will return!
