Many people might know Bella Thorne from her previous role as CeCe Jones in Disney Channel's Shake It Up. But this talented actress has gone on to take on many other roles. She's even starred in some Netflix original movies such as The Babysitter, The Babysitter: Killer Queen and You Get Me.
One particular role that many people enjoyed watching her play is Katie Price in the romantic drama film Midnight Sun. This movie was available to stream on Netflix in the past before it was unfortunately removed. Now, it's set to return to the streamer in just a day, and we couldn't be more excited!
Like most movies, Midnight Sun is based on another piece of work. It's based on the 2006 Japanese romantic drama A Song to the Sun. It was directed by Scott Speer (Step Up Revolution) from a screenplay written by Eric Kirsten, and it was released in theaters back in March 2018.
The story follows aspiring musician and teen girl Katie Price, who has a rare medical condition called xeroderma pigmentosum (XP). This condition prevents her from being outdoors during the day due to the sunlight, so she only ventures outside at night. One night, she bumps into Charlie Reed, her longtime crush, and the two eventually strike up a romantic relationship. However, as their relationship progresses, Katie soon realizes that hiding her medical condition from him won't be easy.
Starring opposite Thorne as Charlie is Patrick Schwarzenegger. You might recognize him from his previous roles in Netflix's Moxie, the biographical crime drama miniseries The Staircase and the action thriller series The Terminal List. His most recent role was playing Luke Riordan/Golden Boy in the superhero series Gen V.
Joining Thorne and Schwarzenegger in the cast are Rob Riggle, Quinn Shephard, Suleka Mathew, Nicholas Coombe, Ken Tremblett, Jennifer Griffin, Tiera Skovbye, Austin Obiajunwa, Alex Pangburn, Paul McGillion, and several others.

This tearjerker is rated PG-13, so it may be inappropriate for ages under 13. According to IMDb, it was given this age rating for some teen partying and sensuality. Also, it has a runtime of 1 hour and 31 minutes, so it's not a long movie at all. We recommend watching it with your significant other or your closest friends if you can. But if not, there's nothing wrong with watching it by yourself. Just make sure you have a box of tissues near you. It can be quite emotional.
Midnight Sun is set to make its return on Netflix on July 15. Will you be watching this fan-favorite drama movie?
