Richard Gadd as Donny Dunn

Donny Dunn is a struggling comedian who finds himself in a warped and disturbing relationship with his female stalker, a woman named Martha, who takes a liking to him after he offers a cup of tea on the house one night at the pub where he works.

Scottish comedian, actor, and writer Richard Gadd is the creator of Baby Reindeer, which itself is based on his award-winning one-man show that initially premiered at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival where it won two awards. His work in Baby Reindeer will likely be many folks' first introduction to the actor but he has been in other projects like Wedding Season on Hulu. He also previously served as a writer on Netflix's Sex Education.

Jessica Gunning as Martha

Martha is Donny's stalker. She meets Donny one evening when she enters the pub where he works and orders a cup of tea despite not having the money to pay for it. In an altruistic moment, Donny gives the tea free of charge and thus sparks Martha's obsession with him.

English actress Jessica Gunning is a veteran of both the stage and screen. She started her theater career with the National Theatre production of Much Ado About Nothing and Major Barbara. On the television side of things, she's been in shows like Law & Order: UK, Doctor Who, Life of Riley, Holby City, Back, The Scandalous Lady W, and The Outlaws.

Nava Mau as Teri

Donny meets Teri on a dating website where the two hit it off instantly. Teri struggles to deal with Donny hot-and-cold nature, unaware of what he's dealing with in his personal life. She's his main love interest on the show.

Actress Nava Mau is a trans woman like her character on the show and she told Pink News that she was drawn to the script because, "it felt like the first time reading a character written by someone who actually had known and loved a trans woman."

Baby Reindeer is Mau's most significant role to date, but she previously appeared in the short-lived (but beloved) Max series Genera+ion. She's also worked on several short films and appeared in Laverne Cox's Disclosure documentary.
