Netflix's latest original romantic comedy movie A Family Affair landed on Netflix on June 28 as one of the tentpole releases of the summer. The movie stars Nicole Kidman and Joey King as mother and daughter and Zac Efron as the famous movie star who comes between them.

King's character Zara works as the assistant to Efron's mega-famous Chris Cole, but when professional strife comes between them, one thing leads to another and Chris hits it off with Zara's mother Brooke (Kidman). The film also stars Kathy Bates, Liza Koshy, and Sherry Cola.

Like any self-respecting romantic comedy, A Family Affair boasts a buoyant soundtrack to match the energy of its story and the caliber of its leading star power. Between some of the latest tracks from the biggest pop stars to a few Christmas classics, you will be bopping from start to finish.

A Family Affair soundtrack features top artists

The movie opens with a montage to establish Chris Cole's fame, and the sequence is set to the classic '80s dance-pop song "I'm Your Man" by Wham! After the montage ends, A Family Affair really gets started to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter's No. 1 pop hit "Feather" as we meet Zara and understand the lengths she goes for her famous boss.

Fun fact: Joey King and Sabrina Carpenter are close friends, having shown up for each other personally and professionally over the years. Carpenter sang at King's wedding in September 2023, and King previously starred in Carpenter's music video for her 2018 single "Sue Me." The inclusion of "Feather" isn't just because it's one of 2024's top songs but because of their connection.

The movie also includes a trio of Christmas songs in the scenes that take place during the holidays, and plenty more popular artists can be heard in A Family Affair. Efron sings a bit of Cher's smash single "Believe," while a tender moment between Chris and Brooke includes the underrated Miley Cyrus pop-rock love song "Rose Colored Lenses."

Remi Wolf, Blondie, HAIM, Lauv, and Kacey Musgraves songs are also played in the movie and help create that perfect romantic comedy feeling. Once the movie ends, Selena Gomez sees us off with her contagiously catchy 2024 single "Love On," a joyful and danceable song that deserved to have been in the running for song of the summer. Well, it still can be thanks to the movie!

Here are all of the songs that can be heard throughout the movie:
