Just a bit of a warning here, if you have not seen the first season of The Night Agent, there could be one or two spoilers here. Also, you should definitely watch the thriller because, while it has got a massive following, it is also worthy of having one. Two years after the first season ended, Netflix is about to deliver us season 2. This is going to be good.
Side note, January is a fantastic month for thrillers on the streaming service, and it only gets better later in the month. Besides The Night Agent, viewers will also get season 2 of The Recruit. That show comes out on January 30. The first season was not quite as good as The Night Agent, but both are binge-worthy.
As far as our hero Peter Sutherland is concerned, we saw him at the end of last season get a kiss before he boarded a plane after earning the loyalty of President Travers. Sutherland had been promoted to Night Agent and was now free to take on the world as an agent. Only, we shouldn't expect things to go very smoothly because this is a spy thriller, after all.
The wait is almost over for The Night Agent season 2
Gathering what we can from the trailer for The Night Agent season 2, Sutherland is in Thailand and on the run from some bad guys. One person says Sutherland is AWOL while Travers says he "probably (has) a good reason." That all makes sense.
We also think we know that Sutherland will reunite with Rose Larkin in some way and that he has called the Night Action Hotline, maybe because a bunch of bad guys are chasing him. That is just a guess, of course.
So when can we expect Sutherland and The Night Agent to return? Soon. In fact, a week before The Recruit is available, the show about Sutherland and his spy friends returns. That will be on Thursday, January 23. That leaves you a whole week to catch up on the new action before skipping over to Netflix's other great espionage show.
But let's be honest, you will probably decide to binge-watch season 1 again before bouncing into season 2 and finish both in about three days. That is the genius of modern-day streaming, especially on Netflix: We can watch the new stuff all at one time instead of waiting a week to week.
