There’s honestly nothing worse than settling in for a movie night, ready to finally watch that film on Netflix you’ve been thinking about for weeks, only to log in and realize it's not there. Suddenly, your perfect plan for the night is ripped away, and all that’s left is scrolling endlessly, hoping something else will scratch that same itch.

But let's be real. No matter what else you pick, it’s not going to hit quite the same. I mean, how could it when that movie was the one you had been really looking forward to watching? For fans of a particular comedy flick currently streaming on Netflix, we're here to remind you of its upcoming removal.

This film is leaving the streaming platform in just a couple of days, and we'd hate for you to miss your chance to finally watch or rewatch it. I doubt you want to find yourself in the same frustrating situation we just described, where you’re all set to watch this movie, only to find it’s no longer on Netflix. That said, we shared everything you need to know about its removal right below!

Mean Girls (2004) is set to leave Netflix in February 2026

Unfortunately, this is true. Mean Girls is scheduled to depart Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. This means the last day to watch it on the platform is Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026. The streaming giant has even put up a removal notice on the movie's title page on the platform. So, yes, its removal is really official.

If you've been putting off watching Mean Girls, you don't have that luxury anymore. This is your last chance to stream the iconic comedy on Netflix before it’s gone. Will it ever make its return? That’s anyone’s guess. Streaming rights often change, so it could come back someday. But if you want to watch it now, don’t wait. Once Feb. 5 rolls around, this comedy cult classic will no longer be available on the platform.

So, what's Mean Girls all about? Well, for starters, it's a teen comedy flick directed by Mark Waters from a screenplay written by Tina Fey. In addition, it's based on Rosalind Wiseman's self-help book Queen Bees and Wannabes. Mean Girls is basically a sharp, funny look at the social dynamics of high school life and the way cliques, popularity, and peer pressure shape teenage behavior.

At the center of the film is Cady Heron (played by Lindsay Lohan), a sweet, naive teen who has spent most of her life being homeschooled in Africa. Suddenly thrown into the wild world of an American public high school, Cady quickly realizes that navigating teenage social life is no small feat with its cliques, gossip, and unwritten rules that seem to change every hour.

Joining Lohan in the cast are other well-known actors, such as Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Lizzy Caplan, Amy Poehler, Tim Meadows, Jonathan Bennett, and Tina Fey herself.

Although Mean Girls will be departing Netflix soon, it will still be available to stream on Paramount+. There's also the option to rent or buy the movie via digital platforms. However, we just wanted to give you a friendly heads-up about its Netflix removal.
