It never gets any easier, does it? You settle in for a cozy night of streaming, excited to finally check off a movie that’s been on your watchlist for months, only to discover it’s gone. Just like that, Netflix has removed yet another licensed title.

We all know this is part of the deal. Movies and shows come and go on the platform based on licensing agreements, expiring rights, and deals behind closed doors that we’ll never fully understand. Still, knowing it’s “inevitable” doesn’t make the loss sting any less.

Now, that reality is hitting again. Netflix is about to remove a critically acclaimed thriller that shocked audiences and won over critics alike when it first hit theaters back in 2019. With a removal set for this February 2026, you don't have much time left to stream the film before it vanishes from the platform for good!

Unfortunately, this is factual information. The 4x Oscar-winning movie, Parasite, will be departing Netflix next month, which is a total bummer. Although there hasn't been a big announcement from the streaming giant about this sad news, you can find the removal notice on the movie's title page on the platform. This confirms that the thriller flick will really be leaving Netflix in February.

Are you ready to mark down its departure date? If so, go ahead and mark down the date Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. That's when Parasite will officially be removed from Netflix. The last day to watch this movie on the platform is Jan. 31. After that, it will no longer be available to stream, and you'll have to find somewhere else to watch it.

It's currently unknown whether it'll be added to another streaming platform after its removal. If not, you can always rent or purchase the movie via digital platforms like Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Google Play, etc. Perhaps Netflix will acquire the streaming rights again in the future, but for now, your best bet is to watch it while you still can.

Directed by Bong Joon Ho from a screenplay he co-wrote with Han Jin-won, Parasite is a South Korean darkly comic thriller that tells the story of the Kim family, who live in a cramped semi-basement apartment and struggle to make ends meet. When the son, Ki-woo, is offered a tutoring job for the wealthy Park family, the Kims see an opportunity to improve their circumstances.

One by one, they cleverly infiltrate the Park household, securing jobs for each family member under false pretenses. But what begins as a clever scheme quickly unravels into a tense, unpredictable series of events. The talented cast is made up of Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, Jang Hye-jin, and many others.

With how fast time is moving, it'll be Feb. 1 before you know it. That said, don't wait too long to watch Parasite on Netflix. We would hate for you to miss out on one of the most shocking and unforgettable thrillers in recent years!
